Below 0

Jacket, Apostrophe. Turtleneck sweater, Charlotte Russe. Skirt, Parallel (via swap). Lace-up pumps, Isaac Mizrahi for Target. Beads, Old Navy. Clutch, Express.

This morning was my first experience in actual, below zero (Farenheit) temperatures. While walking to the bus stop, the steam from my breath froze on my eyelashes. Then, when I sat down in the warm bus, the ice melted and my mascara ran down my face. Lovely.

  2. That skirt is so pretty. I like how you managed to pair it with dark stuff instead of light, as I would be tempted to do.

  4. Wow. I never thought about the freeze-thaw dilemma. But then, I have never commuted in anything less than about 30 degrees F. Well at least your outfit rocked.

  5. Great outfit. I love how you match things up. A flowery skirt like that doesn't say 'winter' to me but you definitely pulled it off! Thanks for the great inspiration!

  7. Greetings from MinneSNOWda. We sent that subzero temperature your way. I am happy to see you still pulled off a cute skirt outfit in the cold weather. I see a lot of women turn winter wimps and wear pants all winter long. In my opinion, the key to wearing skirts in subzero temperatures is knee-high boots which don't slip and a thigh shaper. It keeps you warm and slender.

  8. I love the fit of this skirt. I have one in the same style and was wondering just wasn't right about it; now that I see yours I think mine will need some alterations. Great layered look.

  12. I LOVE your blog. I got to clicking through Blogger randomly and found you! I'm so inspired now to play more with colors.

Tough break with your mascara that morning. As an obcessive mascara wearer, things like that RUIN my day. Honestly. Getting to work and sitting through an entire work day with jacked up eyelashes? Nightmare.

  14. Everything about this outfit is perfect! This silhouette on you is stunning. And, I'm very jealous because I can't wear this style of skirt since it's not flattering for my shape. Great job!

  16. I love your outfit, especially they layered look you've achieved by wearing something long underneath your cropped jacket.

It's just the kind of thing I'd wear for a Melbourne Winter (Aus, not FL).

    And your shoes are scrum-diddly-umptious!!
