My swapped items aren’t actually from a Yankee Swap, but from a Wardrobe Swap Shop swap. (Well, three Wardrobe Swap Shop swaps.)
Continuing with the thrifty theme, my accessories are all secondhand or sale items. This isn’t a $20 outfit, but it certainly is an under $50 outfit.
I’m using this thrifted Sarah Coventry brooch to adjust the waist of my jacket. This is one of my favorite tricks for cinching blazers and cardigans.
This tank has an attached “necklace.” It’s my first piece of clothing with built-in jewelry. I think I’m okay with the concept.
I was initially going to wear a solid black blazer (also a swap), but I like to clash.
Speaking of clashing…

I came to your blog looking for a picture of khaki slacks. English is my second language, therefore I check out pics to find unknown words. Now I will use your site as a garment dictionary. =D
Thank you!
I think its amazing that you are able to pull off different looks now that your hair is a different style. I don't know that this would have worked with the red, less edgy style... but I love it with the more mod coif.
love this look! I like the combination of the skirt's pattern, the blazer's stripes, and the design of the shoes.
and wow i've never heard of online wardrobe swapping, imma check that out.
Love the skirt. You're really pulling some diferent looks with your new haircut.
I was thinking along the same lines as Nurmisur - I love how your hair brings out different colors like the yellow in your skirt or in your awesome Lipstick dress that you wore yesterday. I hope you are totally having fun with the new color.
I love your blazer!
What is a Yankee swap?
I love all the black and white patterns in this! You're so daring.
I've been inspired by your stud cuff - I wore mine today.
Naturally, that last shot is my favorite!
I'm on the fence about the built-in jewelry trend... how does it handle being laundered?
I love your blog and your outfits are cute. I have a blog too and your the first person I've told. If you have the time, please have a peek.

A Yankee Swap is a gift giving game that you play with a group in which you can "steal" gifts from one another. It's popular at Christmas time. Some people call it a White Elephant gift exchange, but, to me, White Elephant is when you bring odd gifts and there is no stealing.
The "necklace" attaches to two loops inside the neckline with small hooks. It is easily removed for washing.
I AM enjoying the cut and color. I tend to dress overly cutesy and girly at times, so the edgy hair keeps it from being too sweet.
I came across your blog about 2 weeks ago while looking for a picture of an orange vest / pullover and I have been coming back ... I love how you pulled this look off, specially because you had the option of going "normal" with the black cardigan but, actually took the road less traveled by :0)
What a great idea for cinching the waist.
I love it all, but those star printed wellies steal the show.
I'll have to try your waist-cinching with a brooch trick sometime.
Your umbrella is too fabulous. So stylish even when the weather is down.
I love pairing different patterns, it makes an outfit so much more interesting!
That blazer-cinching technique is brilliant!
Super cute :D I love your jacket!
Ooooo, I LOVE the last pic with the umbrella and wellies...with all the different patterns, it like sensory overload (but in a good way)! :)
Sorry to dissapoint you Kasmira, but you definitely do not clash. The look is wonderfully complimentary and looks perfectly proportioned and styled on you!
All that pattern mixing looks great on you.
That is some of the most awesome pattern mixing EVER.
the last picture makes my eyes hurt. in the best way possible. :)
I love this look on you!
