Renaissance

I spent a cool, but sunny, day at the Ohio Renaissance Festival. I’m afraid I let my pursuit of mead and giant turkey legs interfere with proper outfit documentation.

Hat, Pangaea. Blazer, American Eagle. Scarf, Target. Skirt, Dex (swap). Socks, Forever 21. Boots, TJ Maxx. Tote, Tommy Hilfiger. Earrings, Claire’s.

You might wonder why I bothered posting at all, since the outfit is nothing spectacular and neither of the photos show it well. The purpose of this entry is actually to show off the magnifying glass necklace I bought at the festival.

What, ho!

  5. I'm glad you posted any way. Your outfits are still way more interesting than what I usually come up with.

My daughter especially loves going to this faire.

Have you been to the one at Ohio State University? Not nearly as big but still a bit of fun, and turkey legs too.

  6. Okay, that necklace is probably the most amazing thing I've seen in a long time. If I had that I would be sooooo happy:) Mayhap I should start trawling eBay's "Everything Else" category. My sister once found a change-purse made out of a frog.

I love that necklace, now I want one too. In googling I found this (unavailable) owl magnifying necklace & thought you would enjoy seeing it...

  8. That was a fun photo- I have NEVER seen one of those giant knights- and I am a total LOTR geek.

  9. maryeb - I haven't been! I'll have to check that out. What I'd really like to go to is a steampunk festival.

Julia Whicker - like an actual, hollowed-out frog skin?

    Mel.J - cute!

I love those sort of geeky gatherings - I'm looking at going to a comic con in the next few weeks.
