Cincinnati has the coldest winters I’ve ever experienced. It was a shock to move here from semi-tropical Okinawa. I soon purchased heavy coats, scarves, hats, gloves, and fleece pants for my bus commute. For the last six years, I’ve kept my feet warm and dry with a combination of thick socks and rubber galoshes. But the cold eventually cracks the rubber and even the thickest socks didn’t really keep my toes from numbing. I’ve had enough. I’m tired of thawing my feet under my desk each morning, wrapped in a microwavable heating pad. I bought snow boots.
Coat, Via Spiga. Flannel, Mossimo (thrifted). Turtleneck and bag, Mossimo. Jeans, Salt Works. Boots, Sorel. Hat, Stray Dog. Sunglasses, Xhilaration.
Of course, since I finally shelled out the cash for proper footwear, we’ve been having mild weather. So, I went to Michigan to try out my snow boots…in the snow.

Figures that as soon as you buy cold-weather stuff, it doesn't get cold. Ugh.
Sarah - I have been experimenting with pants looks. Not sure if I like them better than skirts on me. These skinnies were only $20 at TJ Maxx.
ReplyDeleteSuper cute! My mom wants this pair of boots that are battery powered and heat your feet up to 120 degrees lol. I told her it was overkill for Southern California! They're cute though =D
