Old and New Favorites

In the last few months, I’ve added a ton of new (or new-to-me) items to my wardrobe. Still, I stand in front of my closet and wonder what to wear. When I’m stumped, this formula often works for me:

old favorite + new favorite = an outfit I feel good in

This dress is an old favorite. And the sweater is a new one. I added a few other favorites (like this denim shirt and pretty much all of this jewelry) to complete the ensemble.

Cardigan, Banana Republic (thrifted and gifted). Shirt, Old Navy. Dress, Lipstick. Boots, Nine West. Earrings, rings, and bag, vintage. Bracelets, Claire’s, vintage, and Garden of the Gods gift shop. Cuff, gift from Beefy.

  7. Great formula idea. I've been doing the same thing. The constant shifts in weather is making things even harder. I will try your formula tomorrow!

Ooh, I adore the pattern & colors of that dress. I'm also really starting to think that a good chambray shirt can be work with practically any outfit.

Hi - great combo! I have a question: I try wearing multiple bracelets to work - they look good but I always end up taking them off because they clatter so much and I think they are probably bothering the folks in the cubes close by.... do you have any suggestions on this? Better at 46

    1. These are my thoughts on "arm parties": http://whatiwore2day.blogspot.com/2011/07/armful-of-bangles.html?m=1

They're noisy, but I like it!

  13. My favorite part of this outfit is the mirroring patterns of the herringbone tweed sweater and the Missioni-esque dress. Well played!
