Demure

I’m feeling out the culture in my new position…trying to figure out what sort of dress is appropriate. I erred on the conservative side for my first meeting, but it looks as if I can dress just as creatively (if not more so) than I have been dressing for my office job.

Sweater, New York & Company. Dress, Mossimo. Scarf (as a belt), Camp Foster PX “mall.” Shoes ,thrifted. Bag, (pictured below), Nine West. Earrings, thrifted. Necklace, Emily Lyn Design. Bracelets, The Bead Factory and Garden of the Gods gift shop. Rings, heirloom and PuzzrollRings

  1. Sorry our weather is so icky for your visit. :(

Oh, I just knew your style would go over just great out here. I can't wait to see what you come up with once you're all settled in California.

    Love the red shoes!

  2. I have learned I can get away with anything at work as long as I am neat, tidy, pressed, washed, hair done and covered up.
crazy dress and shoes? OK as long as they are ironed and my hair looks nice.

I love your hair! Can you briefly explain how you did it?

Also, this is my first time clicking over since your redesign. I really like the simplicity, and the text is much easier to read than the white-on-black.

  4. I just love your blog. I love the way you show us how to wear something in a different way or how to pair certain colors or patterns. While some blogs are certainly pretty, all they do is show us how they look when they put on some new trend. I like your angle much better and would appreciate any DIYs you have.

Keep doing you. You do it so well!

  6. I love all the accessories that you have added to your outfit. The necklace, every single bracelet and ring... because is not matchy-matchy each piece feels so unique. And I love your hairdo, it feels so right with this outfit!

  7. thoroughlyME - I french braided the front sections of my hair and connected them with a rubber band. Then I wrapped the rest of my hair around the braids, tucking the extra into the "pouch" created. I secured it with hairpins and lots of strong hold hairspray.

  9. I love that when you dress more subtly, that you don't lose any complexity.
