October Purchases

Two months left of the year and my shopping budget is nearly gone!

Krazy Mary’s

Some shopping advice: Don’t try on white tops after you’ve coated your hair with pink chalk. You’ll feel obligated to buy the item whether you really want it or not.

1. Gracia lace crop top, $26.60.

Stardust Remembered

2. Beaded shoulder dusters in pink, white, and brown, $25.00.

Coco Sunglasses

3. Giselle pearl embellished sunglasses, $9.99.
4. No label cateye sunglasses, $9.99.

5. Mossimo olive leopard tee, $4.98

Violet Muse

6. Parker silk leopard-print dress, $45.

October total: $121.56

Total spending for the year: $1579.81

Remaining 2015 budget: $193.19.

Birthday Dress

My birthday dress is just like my wedding dress! I’ve gotten a lot of mileage from my black and white, snake-print Parker dress. When I found the same dress in leopard print, for $45 on consignment, I did a little victory dance.

Dress, Parker. Boots, Joe’s. Earrings, Stardust Remembered. Bag, thrifted vintage.

I wore this to my birthday dinner at Ella with Beefy. My birthday is actually not on Halloween, but Ella is closed on Sunday and Monday (my birthday).

I didn’t take today’s 365 shot. Beefy took all these pics. But I’m claiming it for my set:

Stray Cat

I didn’t like what I’d picked out on Sunday to wear Friday, so I returned to my closet Friday morning and chose a few leopard pieces instead: this tee, skirt, and boots. It seemed borderline costume-y, though . . . Then, I realized one more leopard element (the belt) and a pair of ears would make it an actual costume and just the ticket for the last work day before Halloween.

Tee, Mossimo. Skirt, Mural. Belt, Sugadaminka. Boots, Steve Madden. Necklace, Target, Bag, Aldo.

For once, I didn’t wear sunglasses in my outfit photos, but I thought they added an extra cattiness to the ensemble:

It’s been awhile since I layered dresses. It’s tricky to do without looking homeless.

Dress (underneath), Lipstick. Wrap dress, Banana Republic (consignment). Boots, American Eagle (consignment). Sunglasses, no label. Bag, thrifted. Earrings, vintage.

She Knows How to Use Them

I’m not tall and I have a short torso. So, I’m all legs and butt and gut. But I can create the illusion of just all legs with a miniskirt, tights, and tall boots.

Vest, AC-3998 (cut from a thrifted jacket). Blouse, BCBG Max Azria. Skirt, American Eagle (thrifted). Tights, B Ella. Boots, Audrey Brooks (consignment). Hat, Nine West. Sunglasses, Giselle.

My gut and butt, not wanting to be left out, demand that I return to Old Town Sacramento to visit the Underground Tasting Room. My legs wouldn’t mind the break.

Leopard vs Zebra

Let’s not pit the leopard and zebra against one another. Instead, they work together for a wild pattern mix.

Shirt, FY2 (thrifted). Dress, Diane von Furstenberg (consignment). Shoes, Nine West. Bag, Target.

I’m glad I’m working with, not against, Jasper at agility because, damn, that dog is fast and smart. And he’ll do anything for a game of fetch and a little roast chicken.
