Pin Trader

Star Wars has become much more mainstream and less nerdy. I’m afraid the same hasn’t happened with Disney pin collecting (Beefy’s hobby). I make fun of his pin collection, but I did beg him to buy me the Star Wars set I have pinned to my jacket for May the Fourth. I am never trading these away!

Vest, Forever 21 (cut from a consignment jacket). Shirt, Spense (consignment). Pants, Polo Ralph Lauren. Shoes, Nine West. Sunglasses, Coco Sunglasses. Bag, Nordstrom Rack.

I’m working on becoming more nerdy, so I looked up the symbols. Starting at the upper right (blue) pin and working clockwise, I’m wearing the emblems of the: Galactic Senate, Jedi Order, Separatists, Galactic Empire, Mandalorians/Boba Fett (seems to be unclear), and the Rebel Alliance. The Open Circle Fleet pin is on my back.

My sister has the Rebel Alliance symbol tattoed on her back. I’d choose the Jedi Order (if I could ever make my mind up on what I’d like tattooed on my body). For now, I’ll stick with the pins.

P.S. Google image search “star wars symbol tattoos” for a real nerd fest!

This is not spam. I have the Disney Visa card, and card holders can get special pins available at the parks. This year's is Darth Vader. Other years it was other Disney characters.

  2. Boba Fett IS Mandalorian, and he wears the insignia... But he's also the only Mandalorian we get to know, so they're sort of synonymous.

  3. I'm a Rebel Alliance fan, all the way. I knew you would like the Star Wars shoes - and I forgot to mention the name of them. They're called "I Know" from the iconic Empire Strikes Back moment. Ask Beefy, he'll know. :)
