LBD, London Times. Green earrings, Body Central. Red bag, Target (via swap). Floral shoes, Miss Me.We attended a surprise 30-year anniversary party tonight. The traditional 30-year gift is pearls, but my friend Karen got three big diamonds instead. She wasn’t complaining!
Mike and I have been doing the traditional gifts for our anniversary. Number four is fruit or flowers. I’d be happy with flowers, but I don’t know what to get Mike. I’ll have to get creative.

ReplyDeleteAlthough I loathe to say it, I really think you need two LBDs. The first is for formal events. The second should be versatile enough to wear for cocktails, the office, or an upscale casual event by adjusting your accessories. I consider this dress the versatile sort.
ReplyDeleteAs far as styling, the dress should speak to your personal tastes and highlight your best features. I like the puffed sleaves, pleats, tie neck, and convertible shape of this dress. It meets my need for fun details. Finally, it highlights my legs, which I consider to be my best feature.

ReplyDeleteI am a redhead and I personally believe that black is too stark a contrast to fair skin and red hair. That and the combination of crazy brights is just not doing it for me. If you want to go dark for a more dressy occassion, stick with navy blue or dark brown. Black can work, but I think it's best with a more conservative look.

ReplyDeleteMy husband and I do traditional anniversary gifts as well. I got him some chocolate covered strawberries that were decorated in tuxes and wedding dresses. They were so cute and tasty! I'm sure you can find them anywhere, but I got mine at sherriesberries.com. You could also get him some flower/fruit scented soap or lotion. Good luck!
