Mostly Cloudy

Floral dress, Isaac Mizrahi for Target. Clutch, Apt 9. Pumps, Victoria Spenser. Patent belt, The Limited. Nude fishnets, Simply Vera. Crystal drop earrings, gift. Brooch, Burlington Coat Factory. Beaded bracelet, Bitten. Ring, Silpada.

This dress reminds me of a cloudy sky. The yellow accessories are the sun, peeking between breaks in the cloud cover. I’m at a loss to define the celestial or atmospheric equivalent of the navy accents.

  1. So the weather is no better over there?
Where would we be without out (wo)man-made sunshine in the shape of clothes!
    Great outfit!

  6. This is a great outfit. I'm not a huge fan of yellow but for some reason it really works here. I think the belt is somehow key in everything working together.

I admire your creativity in how you mix and match so many different pieces in your looks, but I think this dress is just too dressy to work with the plastic, trendy, but cheapy-looking accessories.

How do you manage to wear the fishnets without ripping them to shreds? I had a pair of nude fishnets and got my jewelry caught in them at my desk. It was not pretty.

    I like this look!

  13. Is it just me or are fishnets hard on the soles of your feet? After wearing them for awhile (i.e. walking around in them), my feet feel raw, like they've been rubbing against sandpaper. Or should I just buy better quality fishnets? ;)

    The dress is lovely!

  20. Re: fishnets - I've never had trouble with them chafing the bottom of my feet or anywhere else. In fact, I find they prevent chafing from ill-fitting shoes. As far as snagging - they seem to be more snag resistant than regular hose and, if the weave is small enough, a few snags or holes are hardly noticeable. Keep them far away from the hook side of velcro, though!

  21. I love this dress. I'm not a dress wearer, but if I were this would be the one I'd pick.

I honestly didn't think I'd like anything better with this dress than the pink, but I love the blue too! It's a tie. :)
