If you’d like to see examples of tasteful, business casual wear, I recommend that you visit Sheila’s or Londyn’s blog. If you want to see someone walking “a fine line of looking funky and cool and like a crazy bag lady,” then you’ve come to the right place!
Dress, Forever 21. Tights, We Love Colors. Lace-up pumps, Isaac Mizrahi for Target. Charm necklace, thrifted. Headband, Bitten.
Hopefully I’m on the funky and cool side of the line today…although I don’t mind looking like a crazy bag lady, either.
Edited to add: not that Sheila and Londyn aren't funky and cool, too! They just do it with more class than I do.
When I see brooches I now think of you. You are my brooch lady. So this made me think of you.

Heh, good thing you added that edit, missy. ;) I've never been called classy before.
ReplyDeleteYeah, I couldn't do those tights - maybe 20 years ago!
You look awesome and you totally pull this off. No bag lady here!
I almost bought the same dress a while back!
ReplyDeleteThose tights though...No comment lol.
i LURVE this outfit! :)
ReplyDeleteI love the tights! I just got to wear my argyle ones this week and they got so many compliments. Fun tights are fun!
ReplyDeleteIs there any trick to making sure the tights go on "straight"? I don't wear tights too often, but when I do I find it tricky at times to get the lines/patterns going in the right direction.
ReplyDeleteNice change..after your "corporate stud" look...You are fun and funky!!
ReplyDeletebekster - the only trick I know is to put them on, inspect, and rotate if necessary!
ReplyDeleteI want to steal those tights.
ReplyDeleteYou are awesome. I love that you push the envelope with your corporate wear. And I also want to steal those tights.
ReplyDeleteI got my bangs cut today! I did print out some pictures of you (no stalking... I just like your bangs!) back when they were shorter. Now my hair is about the same cut as yours, though not red.
ReplyDeleteOkay, so how do you style them so they swoop over to the side so pretty? I wear a ponytail. All. The. Time. Do you mousse? Gel? Blow-dry?
BTW, I'm an Ohio girl, too!
EJ - eventually, they'll be "trained" to swoop across your forehead. To start out, though, use a little mousse and blowdry them to the side. They may resist for a day or two, but eventually they'll want to go that way.
ReplyDeleteI would never have the guts to pull those tights off, but they look so fun and cool on you!
ReplyDeleteOoh, i love those tights!!! In fact i love this whole oufit of yours :)
ReplyDeleteI'm still trying with the brooches but until then I've awarded you a special blog for attitude - drop by and collect!
ReplyDeletegreat tights!!
ReplyDeleteWow! I love your style! You do NOT look like a bag lady, but rather a tremendously unique and stylish city girl.
ReplyDeleteBefore I scrolled down and saw the tights, I was like, "What are you talking about? You look so conservative!"
