This outfit is for Oh Honey No’s Clue Challenge.
It was me. Colonel Mustard. In the hallway. With the sword.
I never was a Colonel, only a Captain. The leaves on my belt look a little like Lieutenant Colonel insignia, though. (But they’d be silver. Gold leaves are for Majors.) My skirt (and hat and sword, below) are genuine USMC items. I’m probably courting some military discipline with my irreverent treatment.
Yeah, these semi-cheesecake shots will land me in the brig, for sure.
This outfit is super cute. I've been browsing your site for months, but have never posted til now. Thumbs up!!
ReplyDeleteGeorgeous - love the cheesecake poses :)
ReplyDeleteI'm also doing the cluedo challenge - drop by and say hi :D
Are those "ketchup" shoes?
ReplyDeleteThis is my favorite look by far.
ReplyDeleteYou always have great style but I'm in love with the skirt and color combo.
Oh love love love this. You look fabulous! You are one of the few people that really looks good in yellow :)
ReplyDeleteAnother great color combo. Love love the red shoes or as Rachel Zoe would say "I die."
ReplyDeleteYou look FABULOUS - I always think you look great, but today you look really stunning!
ReplyDeleteLove the pic with the sword!
ReplyDeleteIt's awesome to see you playing along too. The red shoes are so fun with the mustard and olive.
ReplyDeleteHow fun to be able to refashion your military ensemble for everyday wear. :)
I love those colours. I saw someone wearing them with week and made a note of it as I wouldn't have thought they would work so well.
ReplyDeleteThat is an awesome outfit!!!
ReplyDeleteA little off topic. I was just wondering if you ever mix two prints in the same outfit?
ReplyDeleteHi Kasmira!
ReplyDeleteI've been lurking for a bit on your blog...I love this outfit! And I love the random cute poses too :)
I also had a question about posing. You seem to really have a handle on how to pose in the most flattering way, any way you could share some tips?
Thanks!
Amy
Elena - you can find past examples of pattern mixing under the "pattern mix" tag:

Amy - I've been intending to do a post on flattering poses for, um, about 2 years now! I still intend to...
Oh, you sure upped the ante with that sword! I did Mrs. White, but had no where near that an exciting of a prop! Looks great! S.
ReplyDeletemaybe some discipline is in order, but they ought to be proud - flawless outfit!
ReplyDeleteNothing like a little discipline to liven up the action!! ;-D
ReplyDeleteI LOVE this outfit! Something about it makes it looks so 40s chic. Especially in the pictures with the hat- you look like one of the Andrews sisters or something! )In a good way) :-)
ReplyDeleteI really like you in mustard - it makes your skin all glowy :)
ReplyDeletesuper cute outfit. u know, those pics of you with the sword and hat, they remind me of a WWII era pin-ip girl, or perhaps some Korean War era propaganda for the homefront, like Rosie the Riveter. I approve. :-)
ReplyDeleteI. Love. This outfit. Seriously, I wish I could duplicate it.
ReplyDeleteAfter seeing this post I realized I'm unintentionally dressed a la Prof. Plum. This was one of my favorite games as a kid & I might just have to do this challenge!
ReplyDeleteYou've OUTDONE yourself, Kasmira. This is TRULY a "well-put-together" outfit...from TOP-2-BOTTOM! --- Your COLOR and FABRIC choices are STUNNING (a visual feast, to say the least:) --- The toned-down (and perfectly chosen) accessories also highten this ensemble's overall apppeal. I have to say, the HEM of that skirt is both UNIQUE and a SUPERB exclamation point to an already STELLAR outfit! --- No question about it...you hit a grand-slam with this one, sister. Well Done!!!

ReplyDeleteIrreverence aside, I think the hat really makes the outfit! -- even if it does land you in the brig. Fabulous, indeed!
ReplyDeleteThis outfit is PERFECT. I am so into yellow right now, and I love your tops.
ReplyDeleteYou do look stunning in this! I love mustard too but find it's not available in the shops very often -it was around last season and I stupidly failed to buy anything in it.
ReplyDeleteKasmira,
ReplyDeleteMy wife reads your blog all the time (but not mine, for some reason...). It's the only thing on the internet I think she ever goes back to time and time again.
She said she loved your Col. Mustard look and was hoping you would at some point do all of the different characters from Clue in your own sensible fashion.
(She's way too shy to have said this herself, which is why I'm saying it...)
From a writer's perspective, I think your blog is wonderfully done. It is such a unique and great idea and it looks like you really have fun with it.
I love this outfit, yellow looks so freaking great on you. I never would have pictured you being miltary, but now that I think about it. Your probally where a tough and fiesty lil Captain. My hubby is enlisted...when he gets out. I will be trying to do some stuff with his bdu's=)
ReplyDeleteThat you are an ex-Marine (is there such a thing?) fashion maven makes you double plus awesome.
ReplyDeleteJael Paris - the preferred term is "former Marine," because once a Marine, always a Marine!
ReplyDeleteI just wanted to take the time to say that I think that you look VERY Sexy and classy in that outfit. I especially love the lace that you added to the hem of your skirt. I also love the fact that you found a new use for your military uniform skirt.
