Softly Now

The warm, humid air always feels softer to me somehow. The moisture seems to take the edge of things. Similarly, pastels, feathers, chiffon, and an airy knit soften the harsh look of graphic black and white.

Dress, Sele. Cardigan, To the Max. Belt, H&M. Headband, Urban Outfitters. Peeptoes, Bitten. Ring, Target.

A watercolor treatment of this photo makes it softer still.

  6. You really really must enter the madmen casting call. I haven't followed your blog in awhile. I am a big fan of the show, because of the clothes!! The recent casting call reminded me of you! You'd be perfect!
    Give me a shout-out when you're famous :).

  7. You look just lovely! I love the colors you're working with here: the black with the ivory, the lilac/pink, gray - they all work so well together and so well with your hair and complexion. BTW, I really wanted to try your brooch trick to make my jacket fit better this morning when I realized I don't really have any good brooches! Now I have to go on a brooch-buying expedition :-)

  10. I love the way you paired the cool undertones of the cardigan with the warm undertones of the headband. It makes both stand out tenfold.
