Beyond Work Wear

I usually wear my business casual ensembles well into the evenings on weekdays because of after-work activities. Today, I had a rare stop at home before heading out again. And because pajamas don’t cut it at Bed, Bath, and Beyond, I changed into this:

Jacket, Forever 21. Tank and necklace, Wet Seal. Skirt, Dex (thrifted). Sandals, Franco Sarto. Bag, Deux Lux.

I won't be pairing this tank and skirt together again. The combination is too lumpy where they overlap.

The newest in accessories: the grass plume mustache.

Hooray! New hangers for my closet. I haven’t hung my clothes upon them yet, but I have a sneaking suspicion that I’ll be returning to BBB for the 50-hanger pack as well.

  3. I did a closet makeover last summer w/these hangers and I LOVE THEM. Of course, I had to blog about it :)

I ended up with 150 in all. It's nice to have extras for out-of-season items and my honey has "borrowed" some of them as well.

  4. Nooo, don't get them at BBB....get them at Costco!! I bought 50 for $20!! You can't beat that. The quality is just as good, but they only have black. (Which was the color I originally wanted anyway.)

  5. I'm so impressed, two fabulous outfits in one day. I'm lucky to get myself dressed some days.

Thanks for the great inspiration. I really like the color combo in this outfit. And that necklace. Wow.

  10. QL, I got mine at Costco too. 18$ What a deal!

I've been passing on some of my bulkier wooden hangers to one of my fav chickfriends (hi Sheila ;) Some of them are gorgeous old character hangers (honest I didn't steal from the Ritz or Hilton or from Holt Renfrew, a CN train, or some weird shop in Germany ...)

Kasmira, I agree re the shirt/skirt and lumpinesss. What would you put with the skirt instead?

  11. Ruth - I've worn the skirt with heavier weight tops with no problem. This tank is just too thin.

  12. Are these the fuzzy hangers? I have looked at them and worried about getting black fuzz on all of my clothing. =(

Let me know how it works out!

  13. I ditched my (expensive) wooden hangers this spring in favor of the velvet space-savers - it's been so worth it!

  14. Love the outfit, love the hangers. I have been switching over as well. So much better than the plastic ones I had! I got mine at Costco too, but it looks like the BBB set has some specialty hangers, yes? Hmmm.

  15. Well, even if you don't wear the skirt with the rest again, I definitely hope you wear the tank, jacket, and necklace together! They look SO fresh and pretty, especially with the subtle pop of teal from the peacock feather necklace.
