Before beginning this blog, I would never have worn multiple shades of one color or paired it with its color-wheel neighbor. Lately, however, I’ve been experimenting with blue: wearing multiple shades of blue and pairing it with green or purple. The results remind me of Monet painting.
Jacket, vintage. Dress, I Heart Ronson. Tights, We Love Colors. Booties, Sigerson Morrison for Target. Earrings, Jana’s Designs. Cuff, Pangaea.
These earrings are made with spent ammunition casings. The artist told me she calls them “make art, not war.”
That dress is beautiful! I love vintage, I just picked up a vintage floaral velvet blazer with great side pockets..can't wait to wear it..great shoes too!
ReplyDeleteyour shoes, i mean!
ReplyDeleteLove the earrings!
ReplyDeleteThe Monet combination is lovely! You look like a master piece :)
LOVE it!!
ReplyDeleteI feel the same way! Before blogging, ALL shades had to be exact matches. But I love how rich outfits like yours look, with so many colors from the same family together.
ReplyDeletethanks to the inspiration of your blog - i paired a sort of magenta/purple/black patterned wrap dress with a grape cardigan the other day - it was so much more interesting than going with a neutral. i chilled out the rest of the outfit with a skinny black belt, black tights and knee high black leather boots. i'm a psychotherapist so i try not to get too "crazy" with my work outfits (get it? :)
ReplyDeleteps: also, thanks to your blog - i went to my local Goodwill today and got a Bitten black bomber jacket, a gray fitted blazer (perfect fit), a longer kind of blazer/duster(?) by the same brand - the logo is just an "R" (do you know what brand that is?), and a Moreno tweed pencil skirt = $35. i almost peed my pants, i was so excited.
ReplyDeleteI love that dress. I wish it were still available at JCP. So many possibilities!
ReplyDeleteSooo pretty! Man, I love that dress. I wish it wasn't so nasty cold here, I haven't worn a skirt in a week :(
ReplyDeleteI adore the earrings! I also adore the tights. And Monet.
ReplyDeleteSo basically, match made in heaven.
Oooo, love the idea. You do remind me of that beautiful painting.
ReplyDeleteI am so drooling over your shoes.
ReplyDeleteThe shoes clinch it; gorgeous!

ReplyDeleteIt's totally working. I love the color combo here. And of course, those booties are to die for.
ReplyDeleteI've read your blog for a while and never commented. Time to do so!! Love this outfit, love the Monet colors, love the earrings! You've got an amazing sense of style and creativity. Very inspirational indeed! I'm trying to channel my inner diva this year after too many years of letting her fade into the background. I love vintage and thrifting. Your blog is an inspiration!!
