Whisper

I hear this spring’s palette will be full of pastels. I’m not objecting...much.

Sweater, vintage. Dress, Lipstick. Tights, We Love Colors. Peeptoes, Wild Diva. Cuff, Modcloth.

Last March, inspired by an InStyle feature, I experimented with combining a few pastels: lavender, blush, peach, and sky. They were paired with shades of gray. I enjoyed the results. I like pale colors well enough, but I don’t often think to wear them with one another. Will you be wearing pastels this spring?

  1. Oddly enough, I started planning an outfit heavily featuring pastels last night!

Cute outfit, BTW. I love the shoes.

  2. Mmmmmmmm peep toes.

I don't know about pastels, because I'm pale and blonde naturally but I'm definitely ready for light neutrals!!

  3. This is one of my favorite outfits yet! I love the detail on the neckline of the sweater. I've been wearing a lot of pastels on my nails, but not so much on the clothing front...

  4. Well...yes, and no. I have a pale yellow dress, and a few peachy-coloured things, but mostly I'll be sticking to my brights. I find pastels are just too washed out on me.

Something about the grey legs and turquoise shoes really rocks for me.

  5. Shoe love! You're hair looks cute today

I'm not really a pastel kinda gal, even for spring. I do have a few pieces I look forward to wearing, but for spring/summer I'm ready for brights!

  6. I love those shoes!

I have been planning an outfit to feature my new lavender Fluevog Bellevues. I'm just waiting for the walks not to be covered in snow, ice, and salty sludge to debut them.

  10. I love how much use you get out of this dress!

I'm definitely down with turquoise for the new season since I already have some pieces. Probably the pinks and lavender too.

  11. most pastels wash me out and look a bit too "little girl" on me, so i think its a trend that will likely pass by unnoticed by me. i may have a few things i can pull out to wear, but for the most part, not my thing...

I generally look a mess in pastels, so I'll probably avoid them. Except, perhaps, in floral prints!

  13. I like the all pastel look. It seems like a safer way for me to mix colors.

Not sure how great it will look with my pale skin though and I don't like wearing a lot of make-up. Still I'm planning a few outfits with the pale mix in mind.

  14. great shoes! I will not be wearing any pastels this spring, as my wardrobe is fairly dark. The lightest I go usually is bright fuscia or red! keep it up! love the octo-bling!

  19. I will not be wearing pastels, at least not up around my face, because my pale skin gets completely washed out. I do, however, love your grey tights and turquoise heels combo! The shoes really pop!
