It isn’t perfect. My roots and grays are evident and the back is a little wonky, but I’m quite happy to have all the hairs tucked away. I wish I had the courage to walk out of the house in one of Calivintage’s turbans, because that would be even simpler and tidier.
OMG I am totally and completely jealous of your ability to create this hair style.
ReplyDeleteTotally. And completely. It looks great!
You must have eyes in the back of your head. How much did you have to practice to braid like that? Beautiful!
ReplyDeleteVery cute! I used to do something similar when my hair was longer.
ReplyDeleteI think you would look good in the turban, not sure how cool it would be in this 90+ heat.
paisleyapron - one summer, I wore french-braided pigtails every single day. I got plenty of practice. :)
ReplyDeleteThe hairstyle was a total success! It looks so cute :] I'm a little jealous, my hair is too long to do that. The most I can do is the front, or french braided pigtails.
ReplyDeleteAnd I'm crazy about the eye necklace. It reminds me of A Series of Unfortunate Events...

CUTE hair! I french braid my girls' hair all the time, and I can do one braid in the back of my hair, but french braiding down the side of mine is still a leetle bit tricky. I've been working on it though. One of my favorite things to do, when my hair was about your length was to take a bunch of claw clips (or bobby pins) and randomly pin up the back and sides in sections. I'm all about the messy, non-fussy hairstyles though. Today, I have 2 skinny braids (one on each side) pulled back into a messy bun.
ReplyDeleteI love my hair, but I have absolutely no patience for styling it. Bah! Waste of time!
ReplyDeleteI also have to factor in the exercise that I do. Must be able to withstand wind, rain, sun and still look good in work clothes.
I love the braids on you - very nice. You have lovely hair.
Wish I had the talent to braid! Looks lovely!

Your braiding skills are ace. I love how you pulled the bright vibrant busy dress in with the moto vest. I love that sort of harmony in an outfit.
ReplyDeleteI am also jealous of your ability to do this. Back when I had long hair, I must've tried French braiding my own hair a hundred times, and failed consistently.
ReplyDeleteAlso, your freckles are adorable.
I adore your hair like that!! You definitely need to teach me b/c I am no where near that talented... LOL
ReplyDeleteWeren't you hot in this outfit? It's super cute, but it has been steaming lately!
Those braids are just the cutest ever. Please do a video tutorial on french braiding. I'd love to do french braid pigtails!
ReplyDeleteLoving your hair, your dress and your freckles. All super cute.
ReplyDeleteVery pretty... now where is the DIY?
ReplyDeleteLoving the plait. ;)
ReplyDeleteYou look so fresh and pretty with the braid. Love it!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE your hair like this! Was there a part down the back and two french braids? I must know so I can recreate it on my own head!
ReplyDeleteI saw owl rings at Target yesterday and thought you might want to check them out! They were cute.
ReplyDeletelove your hair like this, you should wear it more often. It definitely goes with the outfit and the boots.
ReplyDeleteLondyn - I left the vest unzipped most of the time. That was cooler.
ReplyDeleteZeus' Mom and Lorena - I'll see what the Muchacho can film for me!
eplang - I didn't think my hair was long enough to braid all the way to the middle point of the back of my head....so I left about a 4 inch wide section in the back unbraided and gathered it, and the braids into a ponytail before turning it all under. You can see the back in the linked photo. I didn't really like the way the back looked and would attempt to braid it all next time.
i love ur hair
