While I always ask before reposting another blogger’s image, I’ve never asked permission to copy an outfit. Personally, I consider it flattery. How about you? There is currently a discussion on style imitation at You Look Fab.
I agree, it's flattery. And I love your interpretation. I may just have to copy you!
ReplyDeleteI've been on the prowl for a houndstooth skirt. Now I want one even more.

ReplyDeleteLove it on both of you!
B&W pattern mixes are my favorites.
ReplyDeleteYou do inspire me to mix patterns- but you do it so much better than I have- I am a timid mixer.

Adorable! I love the mixture of prints. Great boots, too!
ReplyDeletebut what did you wear for the Super Bowl? green and black? yellow and yellow?
ReplyDelete:]
...bill - I didn't wear green or black or yellow! And the outfit totally wasn't bloggable. (But you'll see a bit of it in a special post I'll publish on Feb 10.)
ReplyDeleteKasmira- this outfit rocks! And thank you so much for featuring me. You are equally inspiring me to do an even bolder pattern mix!
ReplyDeleteYou look great!
I think you do a great job pattern mixing!
ReplyDeleteI haven't outright copied anyone (yet), but I've been inspired by several bloggers (including you). I usually try to mention who the inspiration was, if I can remember it!
I always love what you mix up..I bet there are others learning from you!!
ReplyDeleteLOve both versions of the outfit.
ReplyDeleteI think as long as you give credit where credit is due, we come out all as winners. Personally I take it as a huuuge compliment when I hear that a fellow blogger was inspired by my dress.
PS YOU ROCK!
Win! Great mix.
ReplyDeleteIt makes total sense.
LOVE this combo. I have a hounds tooth dress that is more evening wear but I always wanted a way to wear it to work! NOW I can..a striped shirt over it along with a cardigan is the solution! More bang for my buck! This is brilliant.
ReplyDeleteBTW--imitation is flattery. When some one can take inspiration from an outfit and recreate it to fit their own style/personality is a huge compliment. I only find it annoying when someone plagiarizes style--like a carbon copy of your outfit...
current facebook status: 'my outfit isn't bloggable.'
ReplyDeleteI love this! I am totally inspired by this and want to try something with black and white patterns when I am done with the 30 for 30! I think being inspired by other bloggers is awesome and that is part of why we blog - to inspire others. I think that if you give credit to your inspiration that is all that matters.
ReplyDeleteso cute! great job print mixing
ReplyDeleteSo I voted against the pattern mixing on the poll that you did a few posts back, but this post opened my eyes. I'm pro mixing if it's from the same color palette. I love these patterns mixed up!! You look faboo.
ReplyDeleteMan, those are two patterns I would never think to mix (probably because I don't have anything houndstooth-y) but what a cool final effect! I looove it. I just came across your blog via the academicchic scarf bibliography and am promptly adding you to my GoogleReader! Nice to meet you :)
