Cincinnati was too gray and cold today for my Thai silk skirt, so I traveled to Southeast Asia to wear my outfit. (WIW2D has a generous travel budget.)
Shirt, One Star (thrifted). Skirt, Thailand. Shoes, Two Lips. Leather cuff, Epcot Canada. Watch, Raymond Weil. Earrings, Aldo. Bag, Mossimo.
Ooh, this is my favorite of the different ways you've worn this skirt. I think the simple blouse and matchy shoes really let it stand out--and are you wrapping it differently? The silhouette looks better than I remember. All-around great!
Ok, this is not at all related to today's post, but instead related to a post from a while back. I'm not sure when you posted about the "Flickr Wardrobe Swap", but I know you gave directions for how to join. How long does it normally take to join the group? I requested to join about a month ago and it still says that it is "awaiting moderator attention." Any advice?
I bought a similar sarong silk skirt from Thailand this past week and came across this entry as I was researching for my recent blog entry. You can view it here. I event linked back to your blog and featured your photo! Stop by FabGabBlog.com http://fabgabblog.com/2012/01/style-diary-thailand-fashion/
That is a really lovely skirt - I love it with the menswear look of the top.

ReplyDeleteI'm loving the red skirt. I'm glad you've left it long and I've really enjoyed seeing how you've remixed it.
ReplyDeleteI love to see Maxi's worn with blouses! It gives them a new, chic edge!

ReplyDeleteI'm not a fan of maxi skirts, but that skirt is gorgeous. I love the shoes and the blouse you chose to wear with it. Perfect for wearing to Thailand.
ReplyDeleteI've been wrapping the skirt with the flap in front for the last couple of wearings. I think tucking my shirt in gives it a really different look.

MD - send me an email with your Flickr id or Flickr mail me and I'll bring you to the group admin's attention. She gets overwhelmed with requests.
ReplyDeleteI have this skirt in aqua and only ever worn it with a white singlet in Bali! You've broadened my horizons yet again :)
