Blueberry

I worked picking berries one summer. I ate all the raspberries I could stand, even though I’d occasionally eat one a stinkbug had recently vacated. Yuck!

The blueberries ripened later in the season. I didn’t eat as many of those because I discovered that the inside of a blueberry looks an awful lot like guts. They do make excellent missiles to toss at your coworkers, though.

Thankfully, I left the job before we moved to the backbreaking work of picking strawberries.

Today, I resemble a giant blueberry. I can assure you that I am, also, full of guts.

The green heels make a marvelous accent!

I don't like blueberries much because, to me, they taste like they're filled with fruit-flavored sand.

  2. a. You guys! Don't hate on the innocent blueberry! They promote good brain health... and are tasty in muffins.

    b. Blue is such a fabulous color on you. Love this look!

    c. How do you get your shirts to stay tucked in? Mine always bunch up and look whackadoo.

  3. Love your outfit, it's quite conservative for you but the bold blue goes great with your hair and the gingham keeps it cute. Not stopped by in ages and enjoying catching up with your posts.

haha that job sounds like it has some good stories!

The skirt looks like it might be hand made, and very well at that.

    LOVE the necklace.

  5. Cheap Chick - It helps that this shirt has seaming so that it fits close to the body and moves around less than a boxy shirt would.

And, I readjust it frequently, since I pee about 12 times a day. I yank on the hem from the bottom and then smooth the skirt back down.

  6. But a very pretty blueberry! I love all the blues.

I hated picking strawberries as a kid...though I'm pretty sure that picking okra was up there too. Nasty itchy plants.

  7. I'm not a huge fan of blueberries either, but strawberries are my very most favorite, so i would have stuck around for those just to eat myself sick.

You just reminded me (not, I should add, because you resemble her in any way!) of the little girl in Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory who blows up into a blueberry - that's brightened my day :)
