My parents went on a riverboat cruise a couple years before Katrina. I don't remember if it was the American Queen, or another of the same company's boats. They had an AMAZING time. Do go if you get the opportunity!
ReplyDeleteVery nautical! But wait I am confused... didn't you have this dress already? Did you thrift a new one?
ReplyDeleteJeannie - my mistake! I meant to type "shortened" in the parentheses but wrote "thrifted" instead. Doing things in too much of a hurry! It's fixed, now.
ReplyDeleteAwesome dress combo! I especially love the neckpiece!

Love the layered look. Your dress is so flattering and your accessories really bring together the colors.
ReplyDeleteOhmygoodness, what a wonderful dress! You totally hit the mark with this EBEW--this outfit it total perfection!
ReplyDeleteMy husband and I have been on the American Queen twice. Loved it. Go if you have a chance. Thanks for the beautiful view.
ReplyDeleteThis is a great blue dress. Using the steamship as a backdrop is brilliant. Are you taking your own photos? If so, I have 2 questions: how do you look so nice in your poses (I usually look dorky or all my chins are showing) and how do you not cut off your feet (guilty of this too).
ReplyDeleteMy boyfriend (aka Beefy) took these photos.
ReplyDeleteWhen he takes photos, we take about 100 shots and I try a variety of poses. I usually only get a few where I'm happy with both my body positioning and my facial expression.
When I take my own photos, I use a tripod and a remote. I take a few test shots to be sure that my whole body is in the frame and that the settings are correct. I take 20 - 35 photos when I do my own pictures. The number is lower because the process is slower and because I review the images after every 1 - 3 shots to make any adjustments to the framing or posing.
I plan to do a post on posing, but, in the meantime, here are my general outfit photography tips:

ReplyDeleteFor thos interested, let me help you to find their website... it's not so obvious. The American Queen website is actually: http://www.greatamericansteamboatcompany.com
