I’d forgotten how ridiculously comfortable boots are compared to summer shoes. In the summer, my feet alternate between hot, dry, and cracked or swollen, damp, and blistered depending on the shoe and where I’m walking. In comparison, boots and tights (or socks) are just dreamy.
It is such a battle keeping my heels half decent during the Summer. They get so ragged being exposed 24/7. I'll try wearing a full shoe (with or without socks) and remember how completely uncomfortable I am when my feet are hot. I am staring at your boots and ankle socks with more than a little bit of envy right now. :o)

I salute you and must say that I admire your tenacity in wearing pretty heels, though! I went through so much discomfort and outright pain with that and finally gave up. Now I wear tons of Clarks, Softwalk, Sofft, Born, Naya, and especially Fly London's amazing kid leather laceup wedge sandals. They have memory foam insoles, too. They're sort of dowdy-industrial-punk but oh so buttery soft, comfortable, adjustable...heaven. Naya is probably closest of any brand I've found to making a pretty heeled sandal which is also comfortable. (I have to give Seychelles and some of the Anthro brands points too....!) Yeah, summer's hell on feet. Ready for fall!!!
