I don’t eat meat, but I don’t mind cooking a turkey for Beefy and the dogs for Thanksgiving. (I hope this doesn’t make my dogs sound hopelessly spoiled. I usually cook them a chicken each week and use the meat as training treats. While I find chicken totally disgusting, I like knowing exactly what I’m feeding my pups. Beefy, however, IS hopelessly spoiled.) Unfortunately, I couldn’t find a happy hippie turkey at Raley’s, so we’re doing Sidesgiving: all sides, no turkey. As a consolation prize, I bought the dogs a pack of turkey hearts and gizzards.
Sweater, Banana Republic (thrifted and gifted). Scarf, Canvas Boutique. Tee, Mossimo. Overall dress, Hydraulic Denim (thrifted). Boots, Vince Camuto.
I’ll probably be wearing something very like this on Thanksgiving: leggings and loose layers. Because, even if it’s just sides, we plan to do some EATIN’!
What is this happy hippie turkey of which you speak? We get a local-ish, farm grown one. Though the idea of a Sidesgiving would be fine with me too! Love fall veggies!
ReplyDeleteBTW, you seem to have gotten quite a bit of use out of those boots. And I think they still look great, maybe even better with age.

Sounds like you found yourself a happy hippie turkey! That's my shortcut to describe an ethically bred and raised animal. Factory farming is the #1 reason I'm vegan.
DeleteMy plate is always loaded with sides, with just a speck of turkey so I don't get fussed at for skipping anything. :o) I'm not vegan, I just REALLY like all the sides!
