Make 'Do

I’m doing my best to embrace my natural, gray hair. The long bits are pink, but the undercut and regrowth are all salt and pepper.

Jacket, J Crew (consignment). Dress, Jovovich Hawk for Target. Leggings, Amour. Boots, Vince Camuto (consignment). Earrings, Claire’s. Bag, Clark’s.

At home, the dogs couldn’t care less what color my hair is. They also don’t care that I didn’t buy dog food and they have to eat samples for dinner. (They thought it was treats!)

  1. I think your hair looks perfect, love the color and the cut.
What sweet pups. Maybe they like a surprise for dinner, as long as it doesn't upset their tummies. My pup will eat anything, but it doesn't always agree with her.

  2. So interesting to see how a confident, beautiful, and intelligent fashionista/blogger negotiates the rocky shoals of aging. Have followed you for 4+ years and am inspired by your style and pattern mixing. Aging gracefully or well isn't text book stuff. My money is on you to pull it off with panache.

  3. I am not embracing my grey regrowth - I'm just not psychologically ready for it! Yours looks fabulous!

I'm not embracing mine either! Part of it is because I have an 8 year old, and I don't want people at school to think I'm the grandparent. Not that I really mind that, but it seems the teachers and staff treat parents with a little more respect than grandparents when it comes to certain issues.

I'm also trying to figure out how to gracefully grow it out - I'm dark brown and shoulder length. I think yours looks great! Maybe a short, short cut is the way to go.

  5. Oh, I look forward to this new K.
I have been secretly admiring a few gals I have encountered with short, mid length and long salt and pepper hair. I dye my whites with henna and sometimes just want to quit, but I am not ready yet...

  6. K I am LOVING the hair! You make me wish I had salt and pepper and not just weird wily white sticking up from my hairline! :)
