Blue Shoes

Sheer ruffled blouse and faux pearl cuff, Forever 21. Nude cami, Charlotte Russe. Skirt, Moda International. Peeptoes, Charles David. Headband, NY & Co.

Keeping this blog has had its perks. One of those is the occasional offer of free stuff. I’ve turned a few down (didn’t mesh with my style), but how could I resist free shoes from Solestruck.com? I chose this pair after looking at nearly every heeled shoe on the site. I felt the pull to get something practical (like new black pumps) or something on my wishlist (black, stiletto-heeled, pointy-toed boots), but threw caution to the wind when I fell in lust with this pair. If it’s free, why not be frivolous? (In fact, this pair was the runner up. Hmmm…black or yellow?) Besides, the site has some great deals on both black pumps and my wishlist boots. I can just go back and purchase those for myself.

Just for fun, here’s a picture of me in my last pair of blue shoes! My how I’ve changed.

OMG I love the before picture! Only because one, I used to look the same way...and at times still do...and my mom just commented on how I dress better now after years of jeans and too big shirts. My how we grow!

  9. Totally. No, my feet grew during my last pregnancy and all of my old shoes no longer fit. I have a pair of red pumps that are just amazing. They are a 7 though.

  18. I want to hear more about your transformation from before to after. I am getting more "girly" as time progresses. You look great in both photos but I'd love to know about the path from there to here. :-)

  20. shopdownlite - I didn't know Mike when the hippie picture was taken (10 years ago). I don't think he has many pictures from that time because he was a midshipman.

leslie - I've gone through a number of life stages since that picture was taken. I guess my current girly phase is a reaction against wearing ugly camouflage utilities and combat boots for almost 5 years.

  23. Oh I totally HAD those navy-blue suede "boston" Birkenstocks! I save and saved to get them ($104. I remember so well) and wore them until I couldn't wear them any more. I also loved eddie bauer and frumpy sweatshirts, so y'know.

  24. I can't stop thinking about these shoes! I went to the website you linked and couldn't find them, and I went to zappos and looked with no luck. Maybe they aren't offered anymore?

I don't even wear pumps. In fact, I dress more like the hippy photo than anything else but those shoes make me think I could turn over a new leaf!

Any info you could provide on obtaining them would be most appreciated.

  25. diana - I don't think they are available any longer! They were on sale when I bought them, so I think they may be an older model. You could always watch for them on ebay. So sorry!
