I bought the pink tee for the gorgeous neckline, but I never really liked the shirt’s length or fit. When the fabric began pilling after only a couple of wearings, I put it away, intending to liberate the collar when I found a suitable candidate. The paler pink silk blouse has long been one of my favorites, but I’ve always disliked the collar. The material is too flimsy and the shirt style otherwise too romantic for the all-business collar.
With Ralph Hinkley and Smunchy’s help, I cut the collar from the tee, expanded the neckline of the blouse, and stitched the collar to the blouse. The stitching took a full two episodes of Greatest American Hero. I left the remainder of the neckline raw for an unfinished look. A little Fray Check and a few stitches at the shoulder seams will keep the blouse from unraveling. I’ll wear my creation later this week.

WOW! How incredibly resourceful and creative! I've never even thought of altering my wardrobe like that.. I'll have to keep an eye out now for items in my closet that can be reworked. Thanks for the inspiration! (I'll also have to learn how to sew...)
