Sweaty Sunday - 8 miles

This week’s long run was 8 miles in 28 degree temps and lingering snow and ice. My outfit isn’t much different from last week. I did swap out the skirt/leggings for proper running pants and different gloves. (Oh, and I got new shoes!)

I get really hot when I run, so it’s got to be pretty damn cold before I’ll wear gloves. Even then, I wear the thinnest, cheapest, most synthetic gloves I can find. If it had been sunny today, I would have been holding my gloves by the end of the run. Somehow, I find clutching the gloves to be a happy medium between wearing them and stuffing them in my pocket.

The biggest downside to wearing gloves (besides sweaty hands), is the inability to use a touch screen. It's such a pain to remove my gloves to scroll through my ipod nano. Instead, I just use my nose.

  1. Girl you crack me up! You motivate me to get my butt out there and do some more running myself.

I had the same problem, wearing gloves and trying to work my iPod or my phone. My mom noticed and got me these gloves for Christmas, which have special embroidery on the thumbs and index fingers for touch-screens. They really do work, and I don't have to take my gloves on and off all the time!

  8. I have Reynaud's Syndrome in my hands and feet (they get all white and abnormally cold and numb when I'm cold), so I'm always wearing gloves, but when I really get going, I do take my gloves off (that's one of the reasons I love fingerless gloves so much).

I really need to step up my game with athletic wear - you look fabulous!
