If I Were a Teacher

Pinstriped vest, H&M. White shirt, Gap. Rust skirt, Eddie Rodriguez. Leopard print wedges, Steven by Steve Madden. Watch pendant, Victoria’s Secret. Gold watch, Raymond Weil. Leather belt, thrifted. Brown clutch, Andre (thrifted and vintage).

Holy Timepiece Overkill, eh, Batman?

Here’s a little known fact: I came to Cincinnati with my dusty Biology B.S. and shiny new M.Ed. with the intent of teaching highschool science. Unfortunately, the district was in a hiring freeze and I had less than two months to find full time work so that Mike would qualify for in-state tuition at UC. The corporate world offered me a job first.

If I had become a teacher, this is the sort of outfit I can imagine myself wearing. Modest, quirky, upscale casual. Have you seen Miss Guided? I only caught two episodes, but I LOVE Becky’s outfits. I could have copied every one.

The shoes, closer:

Yes, I have veiny feet. I need In Touch to doctor my photos.

I guess I should create a blogspot account so that I don't have to post proofing suggestions here but I'm currently too lazy. But you can delete this comment after correcting. I suspect you meant "Here's a little known fact" but what's a missing "n" between friends :-)

Although wedges are often touted as being comfortable shoes, as a former teacher myself, I'm not sure if I would have held up in them for my typical 10-12 hour days. Very cute outfit, though. L

  3. Thanks AloEnd!

You SHOULD get a blogspot account. I always grit my teeth before opening comments from "anonymous." I'm much less hesitant about reading comments from my friends.

Reading what you just wrote, I'm thinking I might need an account too...I'd just like to say that I come to your blog regularly because not only do you have cute outfits, you have a wonderful attitude towards life and yourself. I think you would have made a great teacher, and all of the outfits on this site would have worked (for middle and high school^^).

  5. Oh, I love those shoes! They are precious! And about the veiny feet..I would never ever have photo's of myself if there were no photoshop. I am too shallow to have proof of my imperfections.

Veiny feet pride! I am glad you didn't photoshop them. Seeing them made me feel more normal.

LOVE the vest! I would like to see more modest, tasteful uses of vests (and I don't mean grandma's vests with the different seasons embroidered on them).
