Wrap dress, Merona. Slip (orange lace visible at neckline), thrifted. Belt, Luxury Divas (via amazon). Slingbacks, Gianni Bini. Bracelet, NY & Co. Bag, Tommy Hilfiger. Sunnies, George. Earrings, H&M (via swap).
I’m bringing back this navy bag for the next two days. I need to haul my laptop and other assorted items in style for a 2-day work event. That also means both outfits need to be navy-friendly.
Today’s palette is navy, white, and orange. I hear that this combo is “in.”
I’m still sick, hence, the sunnies to hide my puffy eyes. I see the doctor on Wednesday, following the event.
You didn't mention the belt today... where's it from? (I'm sure you've used it before but it caught my eye today.)
ReplyDeleteGreat look! Hope you feel better.
ReplyDeletethis outfit would be really cute with an orange belt--if you've got one?
ReplyDeleteI absolutely love your blog and outfits! You're inspiring me to branch out and be more bold with color.
ReplyDeleteFeel better :)
How about yellow with this? I think I saw in one of your Instyle inspiration pages that yellow and navy is also an in combo?
ReplyDeleteI never look this good when I'm sick!
ReplyDeletei like ur bag =)
ReplyDeletei'm thinking of investing in a large tote bag that i can carry with me to uni everyday.... my favourite colours are turquoise and purple.. do u think getting a turquoise-y blue large tote bag will be a good idea? it'll be smethng i'de use to carry my laptop/files and my other little ods and ends.. or do u think i shd stick to black. personally... i always carry black and now that all my black bags are either torn or too old.. i'm tnhking to go for some colour.. is it safe to splurge on a brightly coloured bag and risk it not going very well with my outfits? or shd i just forget colour coordination and dive right in and get myself a gorgeous new tote bag? i'm indian by the way.. i just love love love peacock colours =) but my freinds feel that sticking to black is a good idea. id'e ust liketo know wat u think. u're like my fashion guru =)

anon - no orange belt. :( Now I'll be looking for one!
ReplyDeletesara - I wore yellow with this once before (http://whatiwore2day.blogspot.com/2007/11/yellow-and-navy.html) but I wasn't too happy with how that turned out. I'll have to try this dress with my yellow belt!
angie~* - Wow, your fashion guru, huh? ;) My usual fashion advice is to follow your heart! If you love peacock blue, and you can find a tote in that color, go for it! Any color can be a "neutral" if you carry it with the right attitude.
angie~* - Go for the color. I carry a black bag around with me everywhere, every day, but it is starting to really depress me. However, I have a bright green smaller purse that I almost didn't buy, but I have been surprised at what outfits actually work with it. I did buy an aqua-colored large bag to replace the black one, and it was great--except that it got dirty really quickly; let me steer you away from light colored canvas.
ReplyDeletehey kasmira, hope you're feeling better now.
ReplyDeleteanyway i cant tell you're sick cause u always look good. i used to stick to safe and boring colors but u inspire me to be more adventurous. tks!
i figured out what bugs me about this dress - the sleeve length! the print is awesome and the length is good, but for some reason the longer sleeves weigh you down visually and shorten you a bit. maybe a nomination for alteration?
ReplyDeleteAnon - I've never thought the sleeve length was a problem, but the hemlength definitely is. I need to lose a few inches off the bottom.
