Club Wear

Cardigan and skirt, Moda International. Dress (worn as a top), American Apparel. Pumps, Colin Stuart. Cuff, Hot Topic. Necklace, Forever 21. Bag, Naturalizer (thrifted and vintage).

I’m not sure WHAT possessed me to buy a slinky, iridescent, skin-tight tank dress. My clubbing days are long behind me.

I don’t ever plan to wear this dress on its own, but it will be an interesting layering piece. Today, it perks up an otherwise staid skirt and sweater combination. An added bonus: the long length of the “shirt” ensures my tummy stays covered when there’s a gap between the waistband of my skirt and the hem of my cardigan.

The look on the left probably wouldn’t fly at work, but I might dare to remove my cardigan.

  7. Whoa, flashback to 1987, when my girlfriend had a dress like this. It looks great on you, but yeah, that kind of dress has a time and a place. I love that you've creatively incorporated it into a work-appropriate outfit!

  16. It seems that American Apparel makes several pieces for the very daring. It looks great on you - the color is spectacular! I am sure you could find an occasion to wear it as is, but I look forward to how you are going to incorporate it as a layering piece.

  22. So fabulous! Plus, you can just strip half your outfit off and head out straight after work :-) In all seriousness though, I love the dress as a top and that necklace is gorgeous (and hello... lime green heels - not many people can pull those off - but they look fantastic!)
