Go Away

Sunset was at 6:25 pm today. There was plenty of time to grab pictures after work, but the rain really ruined things. Beefy sat in the car to take these shots (staying dry and warm*). I can’t wait for weather nice enough to go further than a parking lot for our photo shoots.

Umbrella, Nautica. Button-down, American Eagle (thrifted). Sweater, The Limited. Skirt, Travis Ayers (thrifted). Bag, vintage. Boots, Nine West. Necklace, Serket Jewelry. Cuff, Urban Outfitters. Coat (below), Lilli Ann.

At work today, a gentleman observed that my sweater was a “springy” color. I’m hoping bright shades will chase our foul weather away.

*Not that I blame him!

  1. I always try to bring in some bight colors when the weather is particularly gray. This outfit a simple and cute. I LOVE the coat. Tell me more about it, please.

  2. The coat is 60's vintage from the costume shop of The Drama Workshop. It was my "reward" for sorting through the costumes for our vintage sale.

  5. Melrose - I built it up gradually! I had almost nothing when I moved to Cincinnati in 2004. Thrifting is the best way to find unique item for cheap.

  7. I really love the orange with the blue undershirt. I'm in Northeastern Ohio, and I get funny looks for wearing bright colors all the time. My grandmother used to always tell me because of my red hair I shouldn't wear red, orange, or pink. Silly little rules I don't follow.

  12. But hey! You're outside! And it's not snowing, or freezing! Your weather is not actively trying to kill you! YOU WIN.

In other news, it's cold in MN. News at eleven.

And I love the smart simplicity of your outfit. You wear the heck out of orange!

  14. In spite of the fact that some may view orange, olive and brown as "fall colors" you have turned them into absolute "spring colors"! The light touch of the blue gingham and the AWESOME coat are just spot on!
And I envy your bare knees...
