Green Smoke

If you follow on Instagram (@KasmiraKit), you know that I’ve tried a half dozen eyeshadow tutorials in the past two weeks. Lipstick is quicker, but a well-done eye lasts longer. Today I did a green and gold smokey eye. (To match my outfit, natch.)

Jacket, Mossimo. Sweater, Joseph (thrifted). Shirt, Banana Republic. Skirt, Bass (thrifted). Tights, B. Ella. Boots, Audrey Brooke (consignment). Earrings, Charming Charlie. Bag, Steve Madden.

I haven’t really gotten the knack of photographing eye makeup, but I hope those skills will improve, too.

Today’s 365 is of my morning fortune cookie. (That makes it sound like I eat a fortune cookie every day, but I almost never eat them because I think they’re kind of gross.)

A simple kindness today will soon bring you unexpected rewards.

On Instagram, I very nicely linked to the YouTuber who provided this morning’s shadow tutorial. Was that kind? Where are my rewards, dammit!?

  1. I find photographing eye makeup super tricky as well. I like the green and gold smoky eye though and will have to try something similar.

I have been working on my eyeliner and have now done a great job of learning winged eyeliner. The only other thing I have figured out is an eyeliner color pop where I do regular winged eyeliner on the top and put a bright color just on the bottom lash line. Looks great!

  3. I love matching my eyeshadows to my outfits - I nearly always do, although this is supposedly breaking some sort of "rule" about that. Screw it, I'll wear turquoise eyeshadow if I want to!

I have noticed your eyes this week - very nice! It's fun to play with makeup!

  4. Everything about this ranks as "my favorite" :o) Your outfit, the eyeshadow, your haircut, the boots, the colors, the prints, the layering of olive pieces...all favorites!!!

  5. Bam! You win everything in this pic--I think DressUpNotDown beat me to it. And (confessions no one interested in fashion likes to confess) though I don't even like animal prints, this ensemble is fantastic.

  6. So it's only on viewing this a second time that I noticed the green tights are actually patterned - wow, love 'em! The whole get up is great, but I've got tights envy now. I wear a lot of fancy tights and these I'd wear like a shot.
