Experiment No. 591

Another entry into The Red Hat Society Experiment files. I seem to have an affinity for pairing the red and purple on my lower half.

Skirt, Express (thrifted). Sweater, Charlotte Russe. Tights, We Love Colors. Peeptoes, BCBGeneration. Pencil necklace, Tristate Antique Market.

This is the second Express brand houndstooth skirt I’ve thrifted. The pattern on the first skirt didn’t meet well at the side seam. This skirt does a little better.

Don’t you just love houndstooth? And red and purple, too?

  1. Okay, I LOVE a traditional pattern, and houndstooth fits the bill. And you know, pairing it with the purple and red is kind of genius. But the color of those tights is key, I think--so vibrant and saturated.

  4. Kasmira, happy belated birthday!
Did you know that you share the same birthday with Marie Antoinette? No wonder you have the same taste in fashion as Marie Antoinette is also a fashion setter of her time ^__^

Va-va-voom, lady! What a great look. You'd knock the hats off the other society members, I'm sure.

  12. I LOVE this! The purple and red look amazing together! And I love the pose with your foot propped on the books - so cute! I love the juxtaposition of the conservative upper half (black and houndstooth) and the crazy lower half. Love it!

  13. The black and white helps keep the purple and red under control - I love this! Those shoes rock!

I'm glad to see you found a better houndstooth skirt (you know I love houndstooth!).

  15. I can't beleive I am going to say this since there is a lot going on, but I think it almost looks subdued. Maybe it's the conservative/classic houndstooth pattern that does it? I love it! It's by far my favorite of your red hat society experiemnts.

  24. I LOVE the houndstooth plues red/purple. I wonder how this would have gone with a purple top, black tights and the red shoes to tone down the crazy legs with a conservative top?
