Master Pizza

I’ve had this little jacket since beginning this blog but haven’t worn it much. It never seems to “go” with anything. I think today’s outfit is the best yet.

Jacket, Heart, Moon, Stars. Turtleneck, Charlotte Russe. Dress, Lipstick. Boots, Rampage. Ring, vintage.

Of course, I WOULD think this is the best outfit because it is mixes the floral with a faux-Missoni geometric pattern. In fact, I call this my “master pizza” of pattern mixing. (I’m sure I’ve just offended all of my Italian readers.)

Speaking of offensive, you can read Retro Reva’s interview with me here. The offensiveness is all my own fault, not Reva’s. I just couldn’t help but trash talk sell-out and whiny bloggers. I also come off as totally self-absorbed. I need a PR person.

  4. I really like that jacket in all of the previous ways you have worn it. It's just too much for me with the pattern mixing, though.

  5. I LOVE the jacket with the coral/red shirt. Today's is awesome too. Pattern mixing ftw.(and hotdamn those boots!)

  6. I love the jacket too. The pattern and color look very wearable.

Saw your interview and enjoyed reading your responses to her questions. Thanks for sharing your advice.

  7. I read your interview on the other site - it was not offensive. It might upset some of those bloggers who have "sold out" but what can you do? I agree with your mindset about blogs: it is meant to be a forum for the "Every Man/Woman" to voice their individual opinions. Accepting sponsorships creates kind of a backdoor for companies to advertise and the blogger now cannot be as free. I admire your steadfastness in avoiding becoming overly commercial.

  8. I'm pretty sure this jacket is how I found your blog in the first place. Doesn't matter if it goes--you know how to wear it! :)

  9. Love this combo, and you did a great job on the interview!

  10. Your outfit is adorable. But the best part is the line-up of combinations with the jacket. I totally and absolutely am delighted when you do that.

  11. See, now, I didn't think you trashed talked at all. However, I AM going to stop whining, per your advice. I think I do it too often at my blog, and life is too short to complain about it!
BTW, I love that jacket with the new pattern mix. It really shakes things up.

  12. I just read your interview, I am sorry I am commenting on this post rather than the one geared towards that but anyway....I am SHOCKED that at one time people were posting nasty things about you in forums! I had to post this and let you know that I absolutely ADORE your site. I might not even always agree with what you wear but you have the most amazing, confident outlook on style! So, it gives ME confidence as well! Keep up the amazing work ...I LOVE stopping by before heading out the door to work!!!
    Thanks!

  13. Great job on the interview!! I think you came off as real, honest, and comfortable with who you are.... truly a blogger to aspire to!!

  14. Oh the interview is a bit unfortunate but I'd like to think that I "know" you well enough not to change my opinion of you from one interview. I just have to say in defense of nothing... Mine is not a fashion blog. (that's why my header is "this is not a fashion blog) it is instead my personal blog where I happen to my outfits. (I couldn't keep more than one up anymore)

Also I think I have read you since the beginning! Oct 6 happens to also be my birthday

I also have VOWED to myself not to comment on those certain blogs that BITCH about comment. geeshaloooooo I know I did once but I was bitching about a certain family member who spent HOURS at night reading my blog (hello stats) and then wouldn't comment on things like oh a death in MY FAMILY (being as they are in my family gah. immediate family)

    damn I just rambled.

Also people talked shit about you in other blogs? Want me to cut a bitch?

  15. Great jacket! I think it would look amazing over a hot pink turtle neck.

  16. I am a big fan of the pattern mixing you have going on here!

    I enjoyed the interview!

  17. Love this! I regularly mix print, but usually 2 subtle ones. I rarely mix even one noticeable print with another print. You have really mastered the art of print mixing, and I love this combination.

First, it just looks awesome. The flower print is pretty, and I adore that Missoni-esque dress and all the ways you wear it.

Second, this doesn't follow any of the rules of print mixing (except naturals with geometrics). The colors are completely different, both are loud prints. Yet it totally works and looks awesome.

  19. I am just back from reading the interview and indeed one of my favorite things about blogging is being able to look back at the stuff I wore... and getting so many ideas from other people of finding style soulmates...
BTW I like that jacket, I cannot imagine why you would not wear it more....

  20. Thank you so much for your tips. I really appreciate them being new to the whole blogging scene and all. I followed some of your advice and I already feel as if things are improving. I hope that you continue to provide more advice in the future

  21. How fun to do an interview! I really liked it (although I'm wondering if I'm one of those boring work-wear blogs to you...!). LOL

  22. Kasmira! thanks again for the interview! so many people commented only great things about it and you! the reason so many people like your blog IS the fact that you are candid, and funny- not to mention one step ahead of the fashion frenzy! i've not had that many comments ever! i learned so much as did sooo many others! u rock! retro reva

  23. Love this little jacket!! love it all the other ways you wore it, but not so much with this particular pattern....how would it look with that red velvet dress thingy? or your Lace ensemble? maybe leopard and black floral=awesome? keep up the great fashion!!

  24. Jennifer le Roux - actually, I thought to pair the blazer and velvet dress last night! Great minds....

And I like the idea of mixing it with the lace cardi.

  25. What a great find (the blazer)! I have a two piece vintage boxy 3/4 sleeve jacket that I want to incorporate. You have inspired me! And don't sweat your interview, you did NOT sound self-absorbed. But your modesty is downright cool. =)

ps. my word verify was "censur;" should I be worried?

  26. I don't think it is possible to love that jacket anymore!!!!! The outfit is to die for! Thanks for the inspiration! You rock!!!!!!

  28. Love the jacket too...especially w/ the green shoes! Loved the ways you put it all together.

Miss your red hair. Any chance you'll go back to red hair..it was so becoming on you!

  29. Leslie - I'll go back to the red eventually, but I'm playing around with the dark roots (streaked with gray!) look for now.
