Ask the Muchacho: Answers, Round 3

Hey Everybody! Once again, I'm diving right in. Thanks for reading!

SaraJana said...
I would like to ask, when did you let each other know about your blogs? Or did you know about them already before your relationship began? Did you formally "come out of the closet", or did it just pop up naturally? And most interestingly: If you knew about your blogs before you hook up, what did you think of them or the other person??

Beefy Muchacho's Answer:
It's weird, but... I don't remember the exact scenario. It's far more likely that I knew about her blog before we started dating than it is that she knew about mine. I'm fairly sure I Googled her early on and found it. One thing I know for sure is that I LOVE her blog. I think it's awesome. In any case, there definitely wasn't a “coming out” moment for either of us.

Kasmira's home looks perfect. How does she keep all those lovely clothes put in their tidy little places on a daily basis? Or.. does she really have piles of tried on clothes around and cleans up for photos?

Beefy Muchacho's Answer:
Um... Both? For the most part, she's extremely organized about her clothes, and they really do stay in their various closets (It certainly helps when you use all of the closets in the house). Then there are times when she's been running around for a few days. The clothes tend to pile up in the guest bedroom, where the cats don't go. She's very....ehmm.... strategic about where her pictures are taken. It's not a terrible bet that when she takes her own outdoor pictures, it has to do with the house being less organized than she'd like.

Do you prefer her as a blonde, brunette or with red hair? Short or long?

Now that you're going out w/ her, do you find it hard to keep up (fashion wise)?

How does she stay in great shape? Any tips, secrets?

Is she funny, does she tell jokes?

Beefy Muchacho's Answer:
So many questions! I'll answer them in order...

We met while she still had her long red hair, so I have a bit of a nostalgic leaning toward it. She pretty much rocks it any which way though, so I can't complain no matter what the color.

Hahahaha... Oh Marta... I feel absolutely NO pressure to keep up with her, fashion wise. She's so self-assured and creative, attempting to keep up with her would only make me feel bad about myself. I'm a jeans and polo kinda dude.
How does she stay in great shape? She runs like a mad woman, she swims like a mad woman, she takes a tap class every week, teaches an aerobics class once a week, and eats pretty healthy. It's a daunting routine for sure.

Personally... I think she's hilarious. She's really, really quick and also is unencumbered by being easily offended, so she's also an awesome audience. She doesn't tell a ton of jokes, though. Mostly she's situationally funny. She actually only has 1 real joke, and it's not clean enough to re-tell here.

Boyfriend? Does this mean that one day we will be able to see another wedding dress on her?

Beefy Muchacho's Answer:
She's an amazing woman, and I'm reminded how lucky I am every day. I'll just leave it there.

Do you ever wish Kasmira dressed differently? I ask because I love to dress up, but I have a boyfriend who by FAR prefers when I wear jeans, a T-shirt, and sneakers. I was wondering if other guys wish their girlfriends were more casual when it comes to clothing.

Beefy Muchacho's Answer:
I'm the same way as your boyfriend... I'm not a dress-up kind of guy most of the time (though a do look sex-ay in a suit). That said... Her style is awesome, and fun, and pretty accessible. It's an interesting contrast, because she is extremely put-together and creative, but at the same time, I never feel under-dressed when I'm with her (even though I probably am). Her style is very adaptable.

Hello Mr Beefy

Do you rue the amount of time spent blogging? Or do you have happy side by side laptop times?

Beefy Muchacho's Answer:
Hello! I'll tell you.... She's got her blogging down to a freaking SCIENCE. She's very quick (and she does her own HTML!). I tend to blog late at night, so there's not a lot of side-by-side blogging going on. I do a lot of work from home, so if she's blogging while I'm there, it's usually because I'm stuck working.

what is kasmira's ethnic background? (her name and her sister ping's name always make me wonder)

do you get enough time with each other considering all kasmira is involved in?

Beefy Muchacho's Answer:
Well... Her first name is actually from Star Trek, so I don't think that'll be a clue. Her background is partly Polish and partly “other European”.

We have enough time with each other most of the time (except when my work schedule gets wacky). The biggest activity she's involved in is probably theatre, and I'm pretty heavily involved with it as well, so we see each other a ton. In fact, the play she's doing now is directed by a guy named Dan (aka Beefy Muchacho).

With so many felines in the house, doesn't cat hair get on the clothes?

What's her best method of ridding outfits of the cat hair?

Beefy Muchacho's Answer:
You know.... I've actually never paid much attention to the cat hair issue.... I know that she takes great care to keep clothes off the floor, and to store her clothes mostly in the closets of the guest room where the cats are not allowed. She typically changes into more casual clothing when she gets home, too, so she isn't contaminating her “public” clothes with cat hair.

Also... Magic.

Ask the Muchacho: Answers, Round 2

Hello Again... As always, feel free to leave more questions, and thanks to those of you who've asked some already. I fear I'm a little overly verbose today, so let's dive right in!

C said...
OK, here's my question: Does she ever say "I'll just be a minute," when you're on your way out (to dinner, say) and then she changes parts of her outfit 3 or 4 or 17 times and starts messing with her make up and you get majorly (word I made up) annoyed, even if you appreciate her amusing and artistic outfits? Do you ever just tell her to "throw on a tee shirt because nobody cares what she is wearing anyway? (If I sound as if I am projecting from my own life, well, maybe I am...)

Beefy Muchacho's Answer:
She's really good about NOT doing that, actually. I think the Fashion Show she does for herself every week really helps with that. If there's an event or something, she already knows what she's wearing... In fact, she always seems to know what she's going to wear, no matter the occasion. I've not had to bust out the “Throw on a T-shirt” move yet... It wouldn't matter anyway... She's been recognized frequently enough when we're out and about that I'm pretty sure I could never make the “nobody cares” argument.

Ella said...
What did she wear today?!?

Beefy Muchacho's Answer:
She has this website called WhatIWore2Day.blogspot.com where she posts her outfits almost daily.... I'm hilarious... I know! Seriously though, the day you posted this question we were in Boulder, so check out Day 2 of the Denver post.

Do people at work ever say anything negative or critical about Kasmira's outfits? How does Kasmira feel her style impacts how she is perceived professionally? Does she feel she is always taken seriously at work?

(And like the above posters, I would also love to know how you met).

Beefy Muchacho's Answer:
I've never heard about any negative comments at work...Usually she's surprised when someone mentions something about her outfit at all at work. She's said before that she thinks she might tone down her workplace attire if she were in higher management. If it ever came up, I'd definitely urge her to keep doing what she's doing. “Flair”, to me, doesn't equal “unprofessional”. Also, I think the creativity and thought she very clearly puts into her clothing is something an employer would encourage. I could see an issue if she were wearing overly revealing clothes or tattooing her face or something, but she's very considerate of what is or isn't appropriate.

To read about how we met, check out the first installment of my Answers from last week.

Are her closets really as organized as when she posted the video tour a while back?

Beefy Muchacho's Answer:

Her closets really are that organized. I think it's because she loves finding fun ways to organize her stuff almost as much as she loves finding new stuff... When I found those antlers for her last Summer, you wouldn't believe how excited she was.

Oh Beefy One:

What is Kasmira's favorite junk food?
What is your favorite outfit of hers and why?

Beefy Muchacho's Answer:

Kasmira loves pretty much anything that could be classified as “gummy”. If it has sour coating, or chocolate on it, or some gross liquid inside all the better. When we go to the movies, you pretty much can bet on Sour Patch Kids being on the menu. She also likes the hard-to-find “Fruit 'Splosions”.

As for my favorite outfit of hers, I've been thinking about this for two solid weeks. It's so hard to decide... I am partial to the Summery outfits... Also, green is my favorite color, so I had to choose one example of each...

Summerfair. As far as I'm concerned, if you want to make an argument for the red hair, all you have to do it look at this outfit. I love the color it brings when combined with the orange dress. I'm a sucker for when she wears hats too... (Wanna guess who the Blue Ash Idol Champ was?)

Bad Ass. Remember what I said about Summerfair being an argument for the red hair? Same could be said with the blonde and this outfit. I love how the dark green creates a contrast with the bright blonde hair. The lead picture was on my cell for a while. I also have to admit that I like it when Kasmira goes a little biker-chick. The studs are awesome. (I'm also fond of that one vest she wears sometimes.)

Isn't she married? If so are you her extra special boyfriend?

Beefy Muchacho's Answer:

Fortunately for me, the tenses are in my favor with this one. She WAS married (as in former) and I AM her extra special boyfriend (as in present).

Hey Beefy -

Does Kasmira put on her weekly fashion shows for you?

Does she have funky fashionista "intimate wear" too? LOL! (kasmira - you know I had to ask...!)

You take really good photos - have you always liked photography or only became interested when you hooked up with this lovely lady to pose for you?

Beefy Muchacho's Answer:

She does sometimes give me previews of her outfits as she's doing her Fashion Show. I think it's mostly because she gets bored being in the guestroom, so she needs to break it up.

As for the “intimate wear”... well... Let me just say [[ THIS ANSWER HAS BEEN REDACTED. THIS ANSWER HAS BEEN REDACTED]] you can just imagine.

Thanks for the photography compliments... I've always enjoyed photography, but I've never really had a lot of time to cultivate that interest. Having a specific subject definitely helps.

Is Kasmira as "put together" as she seems? AS in, working, acting, blogging,a perfectly clean house,Gaming, kitty care, and so on! She seems like Wonder Woman! I can barely get 1/100th of those things done. Tell me her "Human -Side" ! I feel so inept as I tell my hubs what she is doing each week! He reminds me , "Honey, You're SPECIAL", but not in a good way!

Beefy Muchacho's Answer:

I think the moment she read “perfectly clean house” she nearly choked. She's definitely put together, and I think her natural organizational skills come into play, so yes... she's that put-together a lot of the time. Then there are the times when she's been working on a show for 3 weeks and the house isn't perfectly clean... That's when she busts out the rum. (I don't know if she's mentioned it before, but she likes rum when she vacuums.) As for that “human side” you're looking for... do NOT mess with her sleep schedule. She has “very high sleep needs.” Seriously. Don't do it.

Is Kasmira a vegetarian? Just wondering how much tofu one must eat in order to warrant the Tofu Muchacha nickname. Are you into tofu as well...or are we cooking separate meals?

And...is that her real butt?

Beefy Muchacho's Answer:

She's not a vegetarian, though she does regularly choose vegetarian options when we eat. I, personally, have never been a big fan of tofu, but she's made it a couple of times, and I've liked it a lot more lately. I'm not a vegetarian either, but most meat doesn't agree with me, so I often go that way as well... She suggested “Tofu Muchacha” when I was calling her The Not-so-Beefy Muchacha on my blog and was looking for something sleaker.

To paraphrase Seinfeld... Her butt is real, and it's spectacular.

Ask the Muchacho: Answers, Round 1

Hey Folks!

When Kasmira asked me if I wanted to make a guest appearance on her blog to answer reader questions, I jumped at the chance. My own blog doesn't really lend itself to a consistent readership (what with the dirty mouth and the unfocused content and all of those effing elipses...), so the prospect of an audience was too delicious to pass up. Possibly making Kasmira blush was an added bonus.

Kasmira has given me a word count for each installment for the sake of brevity. I will answer everyone's questions in the order they were posted. There are repeat questions, so I'll answer them the first time they appear.

Here we go....

Sabrina asked...
How long will it take Kasmira and her boyfriend to visit her favorite sister and freakin' adorable niece and nephew? Why do we have to learn about major life happenings through her blog instead of a phone call?

Beefy Muchacho's Answer:
Uh wow... Awkward right off the bat.. . Hi Sabrina! I can't really speak for Kasmira's methods for revealing information... All I can say is that she hates talking on the phone. Like.. really hates it. You should call her. (I hope you're laughing.)

Marley asked...
Your blog is hilarious! How did you two meet? Where are more pictures of Walt and Roy (yes, I miss kitten pictures)? Do you enjoy fashion?

Beefy Muchacho's Answer:
Thank you for checking out my blog! Kasmira and I met while we were both working on a local community theatre production of “Messiah on the Frigidaire”. (I was in the show, and she coordinated the props.)

I wouldn't say that I “enjoy” fashion. I'm definitely not fashionable in any way, shape, or form. On the other hand, I love Kasmira's fashion, and I like that she enjoys it so much.

As for Kitten pictures... Let's face it... they're not as cute when they're bigger, so there aren't as many pictures.... Kidding... It's more a combination of us both being really busy with this last show and vacation, and the kittens being slightly less cooperative (due to their budding insanity). I don't remember if she's ever posted this one, but it's my favorite:

This is Walt after a particularly hard day of playing when he was still a tiny kitten

Tiffany asked...
Question: does she ever criticize your outfit choices and try to push her fashion agenda just a little too much?

Beefy Muchacho's Answer:
Kasmira has really never criticized anything I wear, probably because she realizes if she started we'd never have time to do anything else. I'm pretty much a jeans, polo shirts, sweaters, and baseball caps kind of guy.

If you had a night free to hit downtown Cincy, what would be your must-dos or must-visits?

Beefy Muchacho's Answer:
I guess it sort of depends on what you're into, but food-wise Nada on the corner of 6th and Walnut is pretty excellent (especially if you like guacamole). If you're willing to walk a bit, crossing the river to Newport (Kentucky... I know... ) can be cool. The Monmouth Theater has a couple of different resident theatre companies, and usually has something interesting showing at a reasonable price. Also, an awesome Mexican restaurant is right next door. It's called La Mexicana. It's the only place I know of in the area to get cow brain tacos. Seriously. Cow. Brain. Tacos.

Lorena asked...
- Is there an OUTFIT of Kasmira's that you would REFUSE to go out with her if she wore ?
- When is she dying her hair again ?
- Has she tried to change your style preferences ? Maybe wants you to wear skinny jeans ?

Beefy Muchacho's Answer:
I can't think of an outfit of Kasmira's that would make me embarrassed to be seen with her. She's always far more put-together than I am. No skinny jeans for me, either. Even if there was an outfit I didn't like, it wouldn't make a lot of difference... I can't think of a time she wore the exact same combination a second time (except for her Blogoversary outfit).

I have no idea when she's dying her hair again... She seems to really like the shorter blonde. I can see it being this way for a while.

nanzy girl asked...
How long DOES it take for her to get dressed in the morning? Does she ever ask you for opinions on an outfit?

Beefy Muchacho's Answer:
It really doesn't take her that long on a day-to-day basis, because she's the most organized person I know when it comes to her wardrobe. She usually takes about an hour or so once a weekend to plan her outfits for the week. She calls it “Fashion Show” and she pretty regularly asks me for my opinion during. Because of this, her time during the week is much, much shorter than you'd expect.

Julia said...
I want to know about her personal life. Yes, I'm that girl. Totally inappropriate and intrusive. Tell us the story of how you two met!

Beefy Muchacho's Answer:
As I mentioned earlier, we met during a community theatre production last year, but to be honest we didn't really talk much throughout the whole experience. I was kind of intimidated by her when I did meet her, and I was pulling double-duty, doing another show at the time too, so we didn't cross paths often... Really the only thing I remember saying to her was that she reminded me of Felicia Day (from Dr. Horrible's Sing-a-long Blog). It wasn't until she had a cast party at her house at the end of the production that we actually had a conversation. The party was “Bacon” themed, and she recruited me to help her wrap assorted foods in bacon. It was during those first hours of the party, hanging out in the kitchen with her, that I was smitten.

Ask the Muchacho: A Call for Questions

Ever have a question about WIW2D but didn’t think Kasmira would give you a straight answer? Now is your chance to get the inside scoop from the Beefy Muchacho (aka Kasmira’s boyfriend).

Want to know how much time it takes Kasmira to get dressed? Wonder if she actually wears those kooky outfits to work? How many cats does she have? Is she honestly reporting her monthly spending? Do people stare when they go out? Is that her real butt?

Leave your question in the comments and the Muchacho will reveal all in an upcoming post.
