Leader of the Band

I was never a band geek, but I always thought the uniforms were kind of cute. If I were in a marching band, I think I’d like to play the trumpet.

Sweater and belt, The Limited. Dress, Studio I. Shoes, Charles David. Bag, Franco Sarto. Ring, vintage.

These shoes would not be a good choice to cross a muddy field, though.

Appropriate

Kasmira-wear doesn’t get more work-appropriate than this. Well, maybe the shoes were a little saucy, but they’re well within the range of “normal” for the office.

Dress, Merona (shortened). Shirt, Merona (thrifted). Shoes, Two Lips. Necklace, Macy’s. Faux jade bracelet, Avon (vintage). “Bamboo” bracelet, swap. Buckle bracelet, Modcloth. Watch, Raymond Weil.

Vivid

I’m in Very Serious Training at work this week, so I’m attempting to tone down my dress. I couldn’t resist a vivid color mix, though.

Jacket, Esley. Shirt, The Limited. Skirt, Travis Ayers (thrifted). Shoes, Two Lips. Earrings, (Into) the Fray. Bag, Franco Sarto.

Sweaty Sunday - Heart Half Marathon

Today I ran my 4th half marathon in my best time yet: 2:02:30 (as timed by my watch). Officially, it took me a bit longer. The race organizers didn’t stop the official clock while I used the porta potty at mile 2.

I have no intention of running the marathon at that pace. I wouldn’t make it past the halfway point.

Other than the pace, today was practice for the full marathon. I ate like I would before the big race. I perhaps hydrated a bit too much (thus the stop during the run). And I tried carrying my Gu and gear in my new skirt from RaceReady. (The skirt is great! Thanks for recommending RaceReady!)

I'm gearing up for an 18-mile run next week!
