I Heart Star Wars: Episodes VII, VIII, and IX

I’m beyond excited for the next three Star Wars movies to be released, but also hesitant. I was disappointed with episodes I, II, and III and, “once bitten, twice shy, baby.” I can’t decide whether bringing back Han, Luke, and Leia for the final installments will be awesome or awkward.

Shirt, Mossimo (thrifted). Tank, Merona. Shorts, Forever 21. Sneakers, Vans. Sunglasses, Target. Bag, Allstate Leather.

For Valentine’s Day, I wore my Star Wars Vans and we watched A New Hope. Because I’m still hoping the last three movies will be good!

Valentine’s wasn’t just about Star Wars; our new bed was delivered! It’s a king (upgrade from a queen) with an adjustable base. Very fancy. Jasper approves.

I Heart Star Wars: Blasters and Lightsabers

You’d think that in the battle between blasters and lightsabers, blasters would win. After all, it’s essentially guns vs swords. The Stormtroopers have the guns and the Jedi have the swords. So why do the Jedi win? Because the Stormtrooper armor is a handicap. It restricts visibility, inhibits mobility, and, apparently, deflects nothing. It just gets in the way, ensuring the Stormtroopers are a bunch of bumbling idiots. Meanwhile, the Jedi are somersaulting, dancing, and cutting down the enemy.

Vest, AC-3998 (cut from a thrifted jacket). Blouse, Victoria’s Secret. Skirt, Herman Geist (thrifted and shortened). Shoes, Kelly and Katie. Sunglasses, Target. Pin, Disney. Bag, Merona.

The lightsaber is certainly the more elegant weapon. But, all other things being equal, blasters are better at wounding and killing.

Enough about weapons. Let’s talk hair. I can’t wait to make mine pink.

I Heart Star Wars: Leia and Amidala

Leia and Amidala may not get to use lightsabers, but they are pretty badass royalty. They don’t hesitate to shed their royal garb and get down and dirty with the rebels. (And I’m not just talking about their love lives.) I’m inspired by their courage and blaster shooting skills.

Poncho, Christopher & Banks (gift). Shirt, Sans Souci. Skirt, Bass (thrifted). Tights, We Love Colors. Boots, Lauren Ralph Lauren. Sunglasses, Target. Earrings, Capsule by Cara. Bag, Merona.

The force is strong in my family, too; my niece is named Amidala.

I was feeling badass myself, as I mustered the energy for my first evening swim in months.

I Heart Star Wars: Jedi and Sith

Is there anything cooler than being a Jedi? One can use the force for mind control, premonitions, and telekinesis. The signature weapon, the lightsaber, isn’t half bad, either.

Poncho, Newport News. Dress, Adrianna Papell (consignment). Tights, MeMoi. Boots, Lauren Ralph Lauren. Sunglasses, Target. Bag, Merona.

If I were too evil to be a Jedi, I guess I’d be a Sith, but the dark side doesn’t seem so good for one’s skin.

Do Jedi take selfies?

I am this close to singeing my hair with my lightsaber.

I Heart Star Wars: Ewoks and Wookies

Among certain Star Wars fan groups, the Ewoks are as despised as the Gungans. I reveal myself as a poser fan when I profess my love for Ewoks, including the much panned Ewok Adventure. Who can resist the combination of fluffy and vicious? I’d hug an Ewok.

Sweater, vintage consignment. Blouse, Romeo + Juliet Couture. Skirt, Outlander (thrifted and gifted). Tights, Anne Klein. Boots, Audrey Brooke (consignment). Purse, Clark’s.

And I’d probably kiss a Wookie.

Cuddle someone furry today.
