Please the People

I had originally planned to wear my tan, wool, J Crew blazer with this outfit, but was tempted by my newly thrifted suede and faux fur jacket at the last minute. I posted both looks to Instagram and Facebook and asked for opinions. Instagram users voted for the suede and faux fur jacket, while Facebook users voted for the wool blazer. You can see my choice, below.

Jacket, Avanti (thrifted). Sweater tunic, Wet Seal (thrifted). Tee, Mossimo. Leggings, We Love Colors. Boots, Miz Mooz. Bag, Steve Madden. Sunglasses, Earthbound Trading Co. Earrings, Charming Charlie. Rings, Black Hills Gold and vintage.

You can’t please all the people all the time.

The two choices:

What choice would you have made?

Waffle and a Blazer

After seeing these patterns together, I couldn’t wait to pair this paisley velvet blazer with this fox-print waffle shirt. Halloween and pub trivia seemed to be the right occasion.

Blazer, BSB (thrifted). Shirt, Mossimo. Jeans, Old Navy. Boots, Lauren Ralph Lauren. Bag, Steve Madden. Earrings, Charming Charlie.

To make this the lamest nod at Halloween, ever, I added kitty ears and a bell collar.

My 365 photos are both about my morning runs with the dogs.

These three dogs live in a yard that borders an athletic field through which we run. I think there is a shed or a woodpile that they climb to peek over the 6 foot fence. Once, one of them jumped the fence and it was terrifying.

Jackson loves his runs, but hates the harness. He runs and hides when I pull it out. He isn’t a good hider.

Otra Vez

Have I complained about the heat, lately? It totally sucks. But a cold can of sour beer makes it suck less.

Lace top, Gracia. Dress, Prabal Gurung for Target. Shoes, vintage and thrifted. Sunglasses, Toms. Earrings, street fair.

Capacity

My days are pretty full. I’m up early to exercise the dogs and usually have an evening activity. Of course, work happens in the middle. I’m currently training another sales consultant and I don’t know how I’m managing to fit it all in (as well as continue to blog!)

Dress, Banana Republic (consignment). Dress (worn as a slip), Mossimo. Shoes, Seychelles. Sunglasses, Toms. Earrings, street fair. Bag, Aldo.

I’m still managing to snag outfit shots, but editing the photos and putting them into a blog post is more of a time challenge.

Pats

When I was training for a half marathon with my friend Erin, she grew impatient with my constant stops to pet the cats we ran past. Unless they were totally feral, I could usually charm them long enough for a few pats. Although walking, now, and in heels, I haven’t lost the habit of calling to stray kitties on the street.

Sweater, thrifted. Skirt, Thailand. Shoes, Franco Sarto. Earrings, street vendor. Sunglasses, Coco Sunglasses. Bag, Clarks.

This kitty has a purple-tipped tail! I only meet the most fashionable cats nowadays.

Lovers Point

How appropriate that Lovers Point is in the background! After snapping outfit photos, Beefy and I posed for our anniversary pictures here.

Jacket, BCBG Max Azria (consignment). Hoodie, So. Tee, Mossimo. Skirt, Mural (consignment). Leggings, Allen B. Boots, Vince Camuto.

The anniversary photos were totally impromptu. This is what I look like after hours at an aquarium full of screaming children, two beers, a walk in the drizzle, and a nap.

We meant to take photos last year, but forgot. We did remember on our first anniversary (and even wore our wedding outfits)!

Just Keep Swimming

It’s shaping up to be a pretty intense week with lots of driving and activities every night. I tell myself to “just keep swimming.”

Jacket, London Jean. Shirt, The Limited. Skirt, J Crew (consignment). Shoes, Linea Paolo. Earrings, street fair. Belt, consignment. Bag, Croft & Barrow.

I do my best to keep my energy up and my focus sharp, even when my day starts with 6 a.m. doggie runs and ends with an 8 p.m. Toastmasters evaluation.
