Buh-Bye Blazer

Today, I was told that I should have turned the yard sprinklers back on weeks ago. If it’s already time to start watering the lawn, there can’t be many wool-blazer-wearing days left this season.

Something Purple, Something Blue

…something thrifted, something new. The shirt was thrifted and everything else was purchased new (with the exception of some vintage jewelry). My “something blue” is the same old bag I’ve been carrying non-stop, lately.

Shirt, Christopher and Banks (thrifted). Dress, I Heart Ronson. Shoes, Nine West. Sunglasses, Girl Props. Earrings, vintage. Bracelets, Target and Mixit. Watch, Raymond Weil (gift). Rings, Black Hills Gold, vintage, Puzzrollrings, and heirloom. Bag, Go Jane.

I didn’t get married in this outfit, but I have been putting serious thought into my wedding ensemble. It’s pretty simple, really: I want to wear a silk, DVF wrap dress. Because I’m practical like that. Any readers own one of these wrap dresses? Thoughts?

Blow Wind Blow

One of the most delightful aspects of Sacramento’s weather is that the air always seems to be moving. At home, I love hearing the windchimes sing and the fireplace flue rattle. Out and about, I enjoy the cool breeze, but fight to keep lightweight skirts down.

Shirt, Nollie (thrifted). Dress, thrifted and shortened (and maybe handmade). Sandals, Seychelles (thrifted). Sunglasses, Girl Props. Earrings, Claire’s. Bag, Nine West.

I Got the Green Blues

Turquoise, teal, aquamarine. I love any shade of green-blue or blue-green.

Blouse, INC (cut from a swapped dress). Dress, Prabal Gurung for Target. Slingbacks, BCBGeneration. Sunglasses, Girl Props. Bag, Go Jane. Bangles, The Bead Factory and Claire’s. Ring, gift.

That may be why this bag is one of my favorites:

Urban Not-So-Camo

I felt SO obnoxious walking around downtown Sacramento (and later downtown Vacaville) in contrasting animal prints with neon accents. (Although the bag and shoes photographed soft yellow, they are both an acid chartreuse.)

Blouse, FY2 (thrifted). Dress, Jones New York. Shoes, Prabal Gurung for Target. Sunglasses, Girl Props. Earrings, Pangaea. Bag, Mondani. Rings, Black Hills Gold and Puzzrollrings.

Discomfort aside, I look at these photos and think, “It could be so much better with my crazy floral blouse in place of the leopard.” Expect to see that soon. Don’t expect to see me blend in.

Boing

Could I dress any more spring-y?

Pyjama Pajama

If I call these pyjama pants, they automatically seem much fancier than pajama pants. Because “pyjama” makes me think of silk, high heels, and fabulous parties. While “pajama” makes me think of fleece, fuzzy slippers, and snacking on the couch.

Jacket, Xhilaration. Tee, Express (thrifted). Pyjama pants, Focus 2000 (thrifted). Shoes, J Crew. Sunglasses, Target. Necklace, thrifted. Earrings, Claires. Bag, Mondani. Socks, sock dreams.

These pyjama pants are silk and I am wearing high heels. No fabulous parties, though, just another day of seeing my fabulous customers.

Perhaps the socks with sandals took the pants a bit back into pajama territory, but my pedicure was NOT fabulous. The socks were the lesser of two evils.

As a bonus, I could just leave the socks on when I changed into pajamas upon arriving home. Then, I snacked on the couch.
