Colorful Tweed

The tweeds of this jacket and skirt don’t match, but they sort of “go.” At least they “go” enough for me. Admittedly, I love all the colors, all the time, so my “go” threshold is pretty low.

Jacket, The Limited. Skirt, J Crew (consignment). Tights, We Love Colors. Boots, Nine West. Sunglasses, Meow Meow. Necklaces, Newport News and thrifted. Bag, Steve Madden.

Not only do I wear all the colors, I try to eat them too. So I’m very excited about the 15 bean soup I’m cooking up for my Toastmasters group tomorrow night.

Pink Fox

I got my first gray hair at 17. We go gray early on my father’s side. At this point, I’m probably closing in on 50% gray. Someday, I’ll be a silver fox. For now, I’ll stick with pink.

Shirt, Forever 21. Skirt, Ann Taylor (thrifted). Shoes, Seychelles. Sunglasses, Giselle. Earrings, street vendor. Bag, vintage.

On an “emergency” run to Ulta, Beefy talked me into a tube of pink mascara to match my brows to my hair.

My post on dyeing my eybrows red is my 4th most viewed page of all time. I prefer makeup for the pink.

Blossom

The cherry and pear trees have finished blooming and the magnolias are in their full flush. Daffodils nod in my neighbor’s yard and a few hyacinth mask the scent of dog pee in front of doggy daycare. Soon enough, the orange trees will bear deliciously scented flowers alongside of the golden fruits. Spring is here in Sacramento.

Jacket, Bebe (consignment). Tank, Merona (should be retired due to lack of elasticity). Skirt, Carole Little (thrifted). Boots, Miz Mooz. Sunglasses, Meow Meow. Necklaces, thrifted and Newport News. Bag, Charming Charlie. Belt, H&M.

Further evidence of spring: I nearly wore pumps instead of boots, but hadn’t shaved my legs recently.

(I haven’t decided which of the two pics above should be my Tuesday “pick.”)

365 pics from Sunday and Monday. :

Casual Business Casual

This was such a casual business casual outfit that I should probably just drop the “business” from the description. I knew I’d have my coat on all day, so I was just going for warmth on top and a fitted silhouette on the bottom. The necklace makes it look fancier, right?

Sweater, Tweed (thrifted). Skirt, Chaus Sport (thrifted). Tights, B.Ella. Boots, Audrey Brooke (consignment). Necklaces, Target. Jacket, REI.

While this outfit may have been slightly casual for work, it was perfect for a holiday gathering with my swim team and Jackson’s final vaccinations:

Kitty

I changed my Starbucks name to Kitty. I was running into too many Mollys in line (or behind the counter) and felt super guilty when they turned to me and said, “Why that’s MY name too!” It’s also a little more defensible when the cashier actually takes a close look at my debit card. I can explain that it’s a nickname based off my last name of “Kit.”

Hat, BCBG Max Azria. Jacket, H&M (thrifted). Shirt, Forever 21. Skirt, Charlie and Robin (thrifted). Tights, Hue. Boots, Sofft (consignment). Necklace, Target. Bag, thrifted.

Wearing this hat, I certainly looked like a “Kitty." Usually, I get a doubletake when I give the nickname for my order. Today, it was accepted without a blink.

Today’s 365 isn’t as soft and cuddle as my outfit. It’s an image of the cars pulled from the Yokohama tire shop after it burned in July. This is the same vacant lot in which I used to sneakily take outfit photos.

I haven’t heard any plans for the burned shop and adjacent lot, but if it were mine I’d build a parking garage. Parking is tight on 34th street between Folsom and Stockton. Put a coffee shop on the ground floor and you’ve got a gold mine.

Obviously, I should be a real estate mogul. A real estate mogul named Kitty. (And I would TOTALLY use the top floor of that parking garage for my outfit photos.)
