FroYo

I was told that my pastel hair and skirt were reminiscent of sherbet. Of course, no one in California eats ice cream. Instead, there is a frozen yogurt shop on every corner. Because froyo is so much healthier than ice cream, especially after ladling candy on top. (I prefer mochi pieces, myself.)

Shirt, Forever 21. Skirt, Talbots. Shoes, Seychelles. Sunglasses, Coco Sunglasses. Earrings, Stardust Remembered. Scarf, Claire’s. Bag, Nordstrom Rack.

If the pastels are some sort of frozen desert, the black and white remind me of Goetze’s licorice caramel creams. Or my dog.

Revenge of Plaidanimal

When I’m feeling short on inspiration, I like to look at what I wore on this date in an earlier year. Four years ago, I wore a plaid and leopard mix on October 12, so I did the same today.

Shirt, Rockies (consignment). Skirt, Mosaic (consignment). Boots, Ariat. Sunglasses, Girlprops. Earrings and bag, Charming Charlie.

Breezy Bum

Between this short skirt and today’s playful breeze, I was feeling “well-ventilated.”

Shirt, Rockies (consignment). Dress, Under Skies (consignment). Bag, SheBoBo. Shoes, Seychelles. Sunglasses, Marc by Marc Jacobs.

Historic 49

I’m standing beneath historic highway 49. If you’re driving over a bridge in Northern California, I may be underneath. Creepy, huh?

Jacket, H&M (thrifted). Shirt, Mosimo. Skirt, Bass (thrifted). Tights, We Love Colors. Oxfords, Chelsea Crew. Earrings, Rain’s Embellishments. Belt and bag, thrifted.

Apoc

I chose this outfit to suit both work and an Apocalyptica concert. For the concert, I got real crazy and UNTUCKED MY SHIRT! Wooooo! (Beefy and I were definitely some of the squarest people in the crowd.)

Shirt and skirt, Mossimo. Tights, We Love Colors. Boots, Steve Madden. Necklace, Girlshop. Bag, Imoshion. Sunglasses and cuff, Target.

In fact, we were SO lame that we only lasted two songs into the opening band before we left. The reality of standing for hours, being up long past our bedtimes, and the noise was too much for these old squares. But I did get to see what Ace of Spades looks like inside, so that was a win:
