Ah, the power of the swap…I sent off a velveteen bag and got a faux fur vest in return! Now, how do I style this thing?

I googled “how to wear a faux fur vest” and found plenty of results, but little help. I don’t find text descriptions, Polyvore outfits, or runway photos useful. I’d rather see real-life stylings. Kyla’s archives to the rescue:

One of the lamest bits of “advice” I read was to only pair a furry vest with very ordinary pieces. Bor-ing! Just look how great Kyla’s vest looks with starburst pants or a peach chiffon skirt. I can’t wait to wear mine with winter shorts or a dramatic skirt

So, how do you wear a faux fur vest? Any way you want, as long as you wear it with confidence.

Sweaty Sunday - 10 miles (again)

I’ll tell you a secret…I’m not a runner. I’m not even particularly athletic. I didn’t start running regularly until I was preparing to enter the Marine Corps Officer Candidate School (when I was nearly 24).

I ran a lot in the Marines and didn’t enjoy it. Running in “boots and utes” or to pass a PFT is no fun. Near the end of my service, though, I started running for myself. I ran to relieve stress. I ran to enjoy the scenery. I ran to feel fit. And that’s what stuck.

I still wouldn't call myself a runner. I do it, but I'm not fast. It's more therapy than anything else; it makes me feel good.

Grind

I had trouble settling back in at the office today. I got in the elevator this morning and automatically pressed “15.” I don’t work on the 15th floor (but I did stay on the 15th floor of the Sheraton all week). I was really confused when the doors opened and my hotel room wasn’t just around the corner.

So Nice To Come Home To

After four days in Kansas City and “the blizzard of the century,” I was happy to return to relatively unscathed Cincinnati. I missed Beefy, the cats, and my fancy camera!

Any Better?

Last time I paired this leopard skirt with a patterned, purple dress, it didn’t get rave reviews. I’m wondering if this version is a bit more palatable.
