Blue One

Beefy Muchacho pegged this as another Shaun Burner mural even before I Googled it. The artist seems to be the most prolific muralist in Sacramento. “Blue One” is painted on the side of American Market and Deli, at 24th and N.

When I saw this jacket, the first thing I thought of was Hogwarts. Because of the crest, I guess. And I don’t even like Harry Potter.

Dog Birthday

Jasper is a year old, today! We spent the entire day together. We started with a walk in Old Town. Next, we went to the airport to return his favorite aunt to Denver (sad face). Then, we visited a new dog park, Carmichael’s Canine Corral, where Jasper made friends with a pup named Honey. Finally, we rambled along the river sniffing dead salmon, splashing in the water, and catching the frisbee. (I was tossing the frisbee in between shots.)

December Purchases

I was a big spender in 2013. I was dressing for a new climate and a new job, so some new garments were in order. My shopping habits changed, too. I spent more at boutiques and consignment shops and less at the thrift store. In 2014, I hope to thrift more clothing, but continue to buy fancy shoes.

DSW

I love my heels, but I occasionally need to wear dressy flats. My red pair (bought on New Year’s Eve 2006!) are looking pretty shabby. I had originally spied this black/white pair of flats this summer at DSW, but I’m glad I waited to buy them on sale!

NYE Lightweight

Once again, I didn’t make it to midnight. My 20-year old sister didn’t make it either (in fact, she caved first!) so that makes me feel a little better. These photos were taken many hours before the new year, when the sun and I (and my sis) were still awake.

Thrift Boxing

I finally had a good thrifting experience in Sacramento. We visited shops in an area I haven’t previously frequented, but I think it was the company, more than the selection, that made the day successful.
