Long Jorts

Let’s talk about the long denim cut-off (or jort). Are they ever cool? Do they have to be tight to the knee? Rolled at the hem? Is there a maximum length? I’m trying it out with a loose-ish pair, long and unrolled.

Jorts, Old Navy (cut from thrifted jeans). Tee, Target. Cardigan, Old Navy. Sandals, Mossimo. Earrings, vintage. Sunglasses, Girlprops.

I’m not sure if this is the look for me, but it is nice to have shorts that you can sit in and not worry about the spread of your thighs.

Yeah, I’m pretty sure these are going to be chopped shorter. Do you wear long jorts? What are your length/cut/styling specifications?

I find that jorts look classy when they are rolled or hemmed. The raw edge of jorts makes them look cheap after a few washes so the hem or rolls help keep in clean looking. As far as length goes I refer back to something my grandma told me-"If you wouldn't wear it in front of a priest don't wear it at all."

I am pretty sure I haven't worn shorts since I was 14, but I like the look that Baby sported in Dirty Dancing - long, trim, and rolled hem. It's classic.

Ha! I'll be wearing my new-to-me white denim jorts tomorrow for Casual Friday! Mine are fairly slim-cut, with rolled hems.

I have an aqua pair (not quite denim, though, just a thicker cotton) that are also rolled. The non-rolled looks unfinished to me.

I'd roll the bottoms up a little, so the length is about mid-thigh. I like the width as it is - I think that long, tight denim shorts look quite weird!
The denim, grey and yellow combination in the outfit looks great.

Yep that's a great length & width. I always feel like a cool skater boi when I wear shorts like that :)

I generally like the length and width here! Maybe a tad shorter but not much.

My 'jorts' are a pair of cut off moto-style jeans. I cut them off at the knee-cap seaming because I needed shorts, they were too long and I didn't want to hem them. Problem solved!

I think there needs to be at least a few inches of inseam in shorts, and always cover your entire booty!~ I don't care how long they are though, close-cropped is probably my personal preference.

girl, with all that running you do, you can definitely go shorter and show off those gams! I'd say mid-thigh with a nice cuff or two.

I'm not a fan of flashing my thighs, so I love these things! I think the length and fit you have here is perfect.
