Flannel and Suede

Today’s high was 81 degrees. Not quite flannel and suede weather, but I could pretend it was when I stood in the shade.

I may have been a wee bit sweaty in my autumn fabrics, but at least I wasn't wearing a fur coat!

Variations on a Theme

I’m stuck in a style rut: knotted button-front shirt over a dress. Instead of a rut, though, let’s call it “variations on a theme.” Working with a single premise, I can vary tops, dresses, patterns, colors, and accessories for a different look but a similar silhouette.

Elastic Waist

Want to know why I’m smiling? My skirt has a partial elastic waist (and so does my belt). Ahhhh…

Out With a Bang

For my last work outfit of 2011, I figured I might as well go out with a bang: denim, wide legs, stripes + animal, black combined with brown, and huge shoulder embellishment.

When your shoulders are this bangin,’ a coat is pretty much impossible. I went with a vest, scarf, and gloves, instead.



I plan to do almost nothing but sleep, run, swim, read, watch movies, and drink gin until next year. I’ve already started.



I had to leave the remaining lemon out of the picture. It's a little worse for wear, after multiple G&Ts.

Plaidanimal

If I had to pick a favorite pattern mix, it might be animal + plaid.

That was just the warm-up. I’ve got even more plaid and animal pieces to mix in the upcoming months!

Shorter Than I Realized

Whoa. There’s nothing like a tall pair of stilettos to visually raise a hemline. I now realize why I usually wear this dress with low heels or flats.
