I’m still loving my new cut and color! The cut works so well with my slightly wavy texture and the color plays nicely with pink hair chalk. (See my instagram photo from this morning, at the end of this post, for the fresh chalk. The pink pieces were pretty well blended by handling and wind by the time I took my outfit pictures.)
Shirt, Christopher & Banks (thrifted). Dress, Prabal Gurung for Target. Shoes, Enzo Angiolini. Sunglasses, Girlprops. Necklace, vintage. Bag, Antonio Melani.
No pink here, but a reader asked to see the back of the haircut. Bonus: you also get to see my crazy cowlick and even crazier neckline.
Freshly chalked, this morning.

It's a really great cut on you, really suits you. I tried purple hair chalk a year or so ago when I had the blonde streak in my hair, but it was too messy for my taste, although I liked the look.
Oh thank you for the great nape picture. My cowlick grows straight left too - it is such a pain to grow out. Thanks again. I do like the hair chalk. I might be inspired to get a little wacky with that for spring.
I know I was supposed to be looking at the chalk in that last photo, but your lipstick stole the show! So pretty!

Pretty! Love the close up and those shoes are FABULOUS :)
Any hints or how to's on using hair chalk? It looks fabulous on you. When I tried it, I followed the instructions, which was to apply it to damn hair, twist it and run it up and down. Needless to say I end up with a frizzy mess that took me half an hour to get out...
I use Kevin Murphy Color Bug and apply in a similar fashion to this tutorial:

I use more of a "wiping" than the "rubbing" technique demonstrated in the video.
I don't prep with any special product, just seal it in with hairspray when I'm done.
I assume that rubbing and prepping with product would give you a more intense, longer-lasting effect.
