Departure

For my final pictures in Cincinnati, we visited an iconic location that has served the blog well: Union Terminal.

Jacket, Forever 21 (overdyed). Shirt, Christopher & Banks (thrifted). Dress, Jovovich Hawk for Target. Boots, Ariat (borrowed). Bag, Go Jane. Sunglasses, Girl Props. Earrings, Claire’s. Brooch, vintage. Bracelets, Target and Claire’s.

I’d really be departing in style if I left on a train from Union Terminal, but I’ll be flying, instead.

I leave on Monday for Sacramento.

Cincinnati, you’ve been good to me.

Homeward Bound

Friday was a long day of travel: two layovers and a good seven hours of flight time. But at the end I had four kitty cats waiting for me.

Jacket, J Crew. Dress, Lipstick. Boots, Ariat (borrowed). Bag, Nine West. Earrings, Pangaea. Necklace, Anthropologie. Bracelets, Charming Charlie and Garden of the Gods gift shop. Rings, gifted, thrifted, and heirloom.

Turkish Peasant

I’ve been searching for a blouse like this in the thrift stores, but have come up empty handed. I’ve borrowed this version from my friend, Colette. I believe it’s a souvenir from somewhere in Eastern Europe. I’m wearing it for all of my 2,550 friends in Turkey, who inexplicably visited my blog on August 3rd.

Blouse, borrowed. Skirt, Talbot’s (thrifted). Bag, D&G (knock-off and thrifted). Shoes, thrifted. Earrings, Aldo. Cuff, Target.

I thought they were checking out my Gypsy Woman post, but that didn’t go up until a few days later.

People of Turkey, welcome to my blog (and my new lenses*)

Neck Party

So, if what I’ve got going on round my wrist is an arm party. Would you say that my layered, chunky necklaces constitute a neck party?

Dress, Richard Chai for Targe (borrowed). Vest, New York & Co. Shoes, Oh Deer! Bag, Nicole Lee. Coral beads, vintage. Turquoise beads, Serket Jewelry. Bracelets, thrifted, Deb, and Claire’s. Watch, Unlisted. Sunglasses, Betsey Johnson.

Or does a party have a minimum of three attendees?

Long Term Borrower

Don’t tell my friend, Colette, but I’m never giving this dress back. Or at least not until my Ebay search returns a result in the proper size.*

Blouse, Forever 21. Dress, Richard Chai for Target (borrowed). Shoes, Charles David. Bangles, Claire’s and World Market. Necklace, vintage. Sunglasses, Betsey Johnson. Bag, Charming Charlie.

*Size 9, if you’re interesting in giving me your dress, instead.

Told You So

I’m a member of trivia team Unflappable Wong, but I don’t contribute much. It seems like most of the questions are about history, sports, tv, movies, or music and I’m not much help with those* subjects. When I do have an idea, I have little conviction; my tentatively offered suggestion is overruled. Every once in a while, though, it turns out that I was right, and then I get to say, “I told you so.”

Jacket, Dex (swap). Dress, Richard Chai for Target (borrowed). Boots, Dan Post. Brooches, self-made, vintage, and swapped. Necklace, vintage.

Why is it that “I told you so” is sometimes more satisfying than being listened to in the first place?

*If only there were more questions about nature, science, business, or fashion. I could pull my weight.

Angel

I missed this Richard Chai for Target dress when it was in stores (Summer 2008), but my friend Colette snagged it and wore it in a post-apocalyptic version of Macbeth. Recently, I boldly asked if I could borrow it and she agreed. What an angel!*

Top, Okinawa Japan. Dress, Richard Chai for Target (borrowed). Shoes, Fioni. Bag, Franco Sarto. Pendant, vintage. Bracelet, Charming Charlie (via swap). Watch, Unlisted (gift). Sunglasses, Betsey Johnson.

I’m going to be a bit of a devil and keep (and wear) the dress for as long as I can get away with it.

*She wore it for a decidedly non-angelic portion of the play, including the “unsex me here” speech.

Pins-A-Lot

I had planned on piling on the necklaces today, but I couldn’t bear the weight of them around my neck. Instead, I wore seven brooches on my lapels.

Blazer, New York & Company. Vest, Cherokee. Skirt, Peyton Place (thrifted and shortened). Tights, We Love Colors. Boots, Nine West. Brooches, all thrifted except the owl who is borrowed from Tina.
