Woodsy

Gray and brown is one of my favorite neutral mixes. It puts me in mind of Mother Nature’s color combinations: feathers on a bird, bark on a tree, fur on a cat, rocks on a hillside.

Cowl tank, Worthington. Coral sweater, Ann Taylor Loft. Skirt, thrifted, vintage, and shortened. Boots, White Mountain. Belt, H&M. Earrings, self-made. Ring, Jan Michaels San Francisco.

I added owl earrings and a leaf-clasp belt to complete the woodsy look.

I've never thought of those colors in that way, but it's lovely. The coral is pretty on you, too.

I think it makes a huge difference to have a pop of orange with those two colours - a very important addition!

You look great in this - love the skirt.

I love your blog but I don't understand the Michelle Obama-inspired belt. How can a belt be comfortable worn so high? How can it look good on any body? (It doesn't.)
Looks weird and distracting.

This outfit is so cute! It shows off your shape very nicely. (I hope that doesn't sound creepy, lol) Very nice color combo.

CindyinSC - because I have a short torso, the most comfortable place for me to wear a belt is over my ribcage. When I wear it at my true waist, it is pinched between my ribcage and hips.

Great look today! I love the pop of coral. Reminds me of those beautiful autumn sunsets in the winter.

Such a great autumnal mix!

My boss and I took a moment to admire your fashion sense and your cute haircut. Love the idea of shortening the skirt. I buy vintage almost every weekend but never thought of making a skirt shorter. Lovely blog! Find me at www.trendwisely.com

Kasmira, Thanks for the explanation! Michelle O must have a short torso also.

Wow! This outfit is just amazing! You inspire me with your creativity nearly every day, but this one is special. Loved the grey, brown and orange combination. :)

CindyinSC - I wear belts like that because it cinches the smallest part of my body, creating an hourglass effect. Wearing belts at the waist make me look chubbier than I already am!

Interesting explanation on the belt, Kasmira. I have a really long torso and I've tried wearing a belt up there and it totally doesn't stay (and looks kinda weird)! It looks great on you and really flattering and I love the pop of color with the orange.

I really love the earthy tones of the outfit. The orange was a perfect choice, and it goes great with the beautiful skirt.
