Silent Vulcan

I have trouble describing this haircut to others. Sometimes, I think it is sci-fi (like a Vulcan) and sometimes I think it is more silent film star (like Louise Brooks).

Dress, London Times. Belt, thrifted. Boots, Ariat. Earrings, Sacramento state fair.

I also describe this as my “German boy haircut” and “bowl cut with bangs.” Beefy is less poetic, calling it “severe” and “androgynous” and wondering aloud why I would do this to myself right before my 20-year high school reunion. I just laugh, say I actually like those descriptors, and remind him that “it’s just hair!”

I definitely would not say either "severe" or "androgynous" are automatically negative.

Now that you mention it, and in such an amusing way, I was thinking you are bringing back the Dorothy Hamill look, you chic trend setter! I like longer hair on myself, but all of your hair styles and colors are such fun and look fab on you!

Good save, Beefy!
I say all those descriptions fit the bill. It's an awesome cut that projects confidence. Nothing beats that!

Those boots! Way too cool.

I like silent film star. I picture a Vulcan cut as more pointy somehow.

The boots are a nice twist on this outfit - I was wondering as I scrolled what sort of shoes you'd picked with this dress. Love the lip color too! Do you have to reapply often to get it to look that good?

The lip color was freshly applied before my photos, but this particular lippy wears really well. It's by Revlon.

Bowl cut with bangs sums it up for me :)
and i had not seen you wear that pretty dress in a while.

I would describe it at either an ultra short blunt bob or just plain awesome - you look lovely as ever.

Anonymous4 says, I can't believe you are the age you must be if you are having that level of high-school reunion. You look amazing! And I love your style - so happy, happy, happy! I feel happier every day just looking at your colorful, fun outfits. Proves you can be over 40 and still having a blast, living and dressing with joy! Thank you so much!

Every now and then you do something simple--boots and a dress--but the results are marvelous. You let that awesome blue take center stage and I think you look mahvelous.
