Red Blobster

Green jacket, London Jean. Tartan sundress, Frederick’s of Hollywood. Navy patent belt, The Limited. Navy patent sandals with big-ass heel, Forever 21.

Cincinnati is the furthest I’ve ever lived from the ocean. I miss it and I’ve been craving seafood lately. We went to Red Lobster tonight for my seaside fix.

Mike and I have “special” names for most of the places we visit. It started in Japan because we were just plain illiterate and had to make up some sort of name to refer to our favorite restaurants. The game continues stateside. Kroger is “Kroginator,” Applebee’s is “Appledonk's,” and Red Lobster is “Red Blobster.” That’s because if you eat too many of those Cheddar Bay Biscuits, you will become a Blob. (Which, incidentally, was one of my favorite movies growing up.) Pizza Hut is similarly renamed “Pizza Butt.”

While my meal tasted good (I opted for the non-blobby Roasted Tilapia in a Bag), I dreamt about vomiting all night and woke up ready to do so this morning. I don’t think I’ll be eating there again any time soon.

Loved the post - hubby and I have similar nicknames for fave spots so this really made me chuckle.

Sorry you got sick, hope you're better :-)

Hey, cute outfit. Love the tulips in the background! Also, there's no need to go to red lobster for tilapia...there are tons of great ways to make it at home. I have a fabu recipe for making it in foil pouches which really cuts down on the clean up. Best part is, it's healthy and you won't get food poisoning! let me know if you want the recipe...I check your blog almost everyday :)

Love it!
When our youngest was teeny she would scream "ROBSTER LOBSTER!" whenever one of their signs came into view. We don't go there much so I'm not sure where the great love came from. Good signage, I guess? We still call it that, of course.

Hi! I found your blog from a friend of a friends of a friends. Interesting how that works! Anyway, I love your flair for colors and your mixing and matching. And my favorite thing is that your clothes are modest and you don't dress skimpy or trashy. THanks for setting a good example and giving us ideas of how to dress well and modestly at the same time.

So I have a few questions! Would you say you spend a lot on your clothes are you pretty thrifty and economica?. It is hard to tell. It seems like you have a ton of stuff, and some seems expensive and some not so much. I bet the people at your work are excited every day to see what you are wearing. Do they know you blog? Just wondering. Do they dress as stylish as you? I know these are silly questions, but just things I was thinking of as I was reading your cool blog. :) Thanks for the ideas and the time you take to do this.

sara - sure! Send the recipe. I can make it when we get our oven fixed. (It's been broken for months now! Guess you can tell we don't eat much at home.)

phamilyof6 - I am very thrifty with my clothes. I try to limit myself to sales, thrifting, and swapping. I do not tell people at work about my blog...I'm afraid it would come across as unprofessional.
